No to Voting; Yes to Protest
by Mort Gilani on Sun Jun 14, 2009 01:28 PM PDTDariush
It is perfectly legitimate for the people who were against voting to support those in the streets when they get brutalized by useless Muslim thugs.
Would you like me to send you a one-way ticket to Islamic Iran so you can live under Ahmadi's utopia for the time he remains in power?

by Dariush (not verified) on Sun Jun 14, 2009 12:19 PM PDTMousavi and Karoubi are arrested for disputing the election results, but Rafsanjani is free working on toppling khamenei and Ahmadinejad? I think, this is it. This gave reason and public support to Khamenei and Ahmadinejad to arrest Rafsanjani, his family and all the members in his gang and charge them with treason among many other charges. Justice is catching up! It is time for Ahmadinejad to take charge. otherwise, he will be assassinated. Rafsanjani does not have public support. His power is in a few hundreds well paid assassins. That is his signature.
Ahmadinejad should arrest him and his gang. seize their assets, then investigate and charge them accordingly in a just court of law. Ahmadinejad should deliver an speech for human rights and freedom and change the justice system to make sure human rights and freedom are respected and free all the political prisoners as the proof to his new policies. Otherwise, Rafsanjani will take him down. Rafsanjani is not about human rights and freedom. If he was, he had the chance for eight years. He is trying to protect his wealth and power by any means even if thousands in public get killed.
Why not?
by Anonymous-Patriot (not verified) on Sun Jun 14, 2009 12:15 PM PDTAll of you who are giving "Sho'Ar" and beating your chests, why not we pick up guns and kill everyone you disagree with? You could do it now and every four years from now on in the name of elections. Isn't it stupid to get violent with everyine you disagree with? Isn't this lack of telerance the very issue you raise as justification for hating Ahmadi? So because you can type some English and live outside Iran does that give you the right to insite a riot?
Persians, unlike Arabs, have a very ancient civilization and understand the meaning of tolerance. Unfortunately we got some "hemar" genes mixed in along the way. I can see those in Iran can't help themselves when I read these educated who live in the West writing about killing and buring and fighting because the elections did not go theri way; "Aghebat gorg zadeh gorg shavad, gareche ba adamee bozorg shavad!!"

Have you not seen the absurd election results? Ahmadi winning in Azarbaijan? Winning in Lorestan? Winning by such huge margins in a 70% under-30 nation?
You're conveniently forgetting those facts, it's almost as if you're trying to portray these people as bad citizens, even though these election results (and very undemocratic actions of the gov't) are fair in any way, shape or form.
And also, in case you forgot, people don't riot and set things on fire to protest election results. They do it to start a revolution.

Respect people's verdict
by Prem Nizar Hameed on Sun Jun 14, 2009 07:46 AM PDTDespite the political situations in , Ahmedinejad has won means it is an endorsement of people’s verdict. His firm stand for the development of the villagers and the middle class helped him swim to victory. So we must respect the verdict. But we expect more freedom to Iran’s people and a good relation with Iran’s neighbours and friends and also reconciliation with its foes for the sake of ’s development, and peace and tranquility in the region. Ideological confrontation in healthy way is welcome in democratic set up.
Ahmedinejad is known to be a simple man in his personal life. So he can translate those qualities of simplicity and humility in his official and foreign affairs in order to win the world. When he tends to listen to the world with equanimity, the world will also listen to his every wise word. The main agenda in the world must be to remove the word WAR from all the lexicons. We expect him to be part of that campaign sincerely. Just imagine how beautiful a world with full of peace will be! For that, a peace dove spreads its wings from my hand.

Okay, I understand you don't like Ahmadi, but does this justify burning the city? We saw Bush elected the second time but did we set the streets on fire? This is why we have Ahmadi in the first place. Iran has its own share of animals just as we do here in US (I mean Fox News and Rush Limbaugh types). You can even read some of them here on Iranian.com...oh well...

So, this is how some Iranians react to losing an election?
by Anonymouss (not verified) on Sun Jun 14, 2009 04:26 AM PDTHow classy. How "civilized". So what was the point of even bothering with the election in the first place? I'm embarrassed by what I see here, actually. I'll admit it. This looks fine here in the US or England, because what else do Iranians do but light trash cans on fire and fall on the ground running after each other?
Sad, really.

What is with these Mousavi supporters? How did Mousavi become so worthy of such clashes. Is he not strongly supported by Rafsanjani? and they all know who Rafsanjani is? It seems to me Mousavi was to protect the wealthy criminals more than anything else. Again, a minority loses and they cannot accept the loss and they rage war against the majority. These protesters are being used. Rafsanjani knows he and his children will be finished soon, that is why he is doing all he can to topple Ahmadinejad, but he is doing it without getting involved directly by using Mousavi. I will not be surprised if Ahmadinejad was assasinated by Rafsanjani very soon specially with him being such an easy target.
Why wouldn't it be possible for Ahmadinejad to win the election without fraud? After All, the majority of Iranians are middle to lower class who are the supporters of Ahmadinejad.
Mousavi should have taken more responsibility and calm his supporters before they get hurt and hurt others instead of understanding their violence. With democracy and freedom comes responsibility. They shouldn't ask for it, if they cannot handle it. Instead of riot, they should peacefully organize a better campaign for the next election.
