I have to say that marhoom general Ariana was a supernationalist.God bless his soul. I wish Iran had more of this type of people.

//www.iranchamber.com/personalities/bariana/bahram_ariana.php

In some ways I agree with him to change the Persian writing from Arabic to maybe our original writing(Mikhi writing). Btw, Fatollah you need to change your name into something like cyrus.

Thanks for the answers. Fereydoon Jam was a very nationalist general and was  interested in reviving our ancient ceremonies like Jashne Sade. I hope you could find more pictures of him.

Did general Jahanbani had kids and where are they? We need to put more pictures of all those people on I.C. Everything about Pahlavi Dynesty is so fascinating.

by Mihandoust on

Sir/Madam,

It is the photo captions which are misleading and are used for misinformation and character assasination.

For instance, it is highly doubtful that the soldier in picture 7 is Reza Shah and it is has never been established that Reza Shah ever worked at the Dutch Embassy.

Or another one, Reza Shah was never Farmanfarma's personal guard but was sent as head of a military mission to Kermanshah to quash the Salar Dowleh revolt, Farman farma was at the time governor of Kermanshah. (Pic 9).

Overall, the Islamic Republic has always feared historical truth as its entire foundation is on lies and any attempt for real histtorical research has always been quashed in Iran for the past 30 years.

Sir/Madam,The messaging service does not allow sending attachments. If anyone of you would however get a hard copy of the "center"s quarterly publication, "Faslnameh ye Tarikhe Moasser", you will see that on the very first page it states proudly in Farsi :"vabasteh be bonyad mostazafan va janbazan".As they would say in Latin:" Res ipsa loquitor": The thing speaks for itself.

Can you please provide a solid proof for this center being connected to IRI? Let's leave ex-this, pro-that for another day.

Mihandoust what is special about the link you provided?

Just because you throw in a link doesn't mean we have to be able to read your mind!  Tell us what we should look for or is strange about the link?

It was one thing if the work of this "Institute" was to publish pictures with one off remarks but a review of the publications of this "research center" reveals a far more sinister picture. The major work done by this center consists of fabricating dubious and unsubstantiated claims which are then used to make up wild conspiracy theories to marginalize and demonize Iranian staresmen, intellectuals, religious minorities etc. For example the theoretical underpinnings of the torture of Iranian Bahais have started in this so called center. The "historians" of the center were and still are for the most part turncoat ex Stalinist communists.See below the works and background of one of the major figures behind the center by his own admission. www.shahbazi.org

Anonymouse

The photos' captions only "identifies" the people in them. No?

by Anonymouse on

I'm not disputing that "foundation" may be bogus because after the revolution there were a lot of propaganda as it would be after any such shakeup.

Islamic Republic's time will come too.

yes, the photos are real. however, the stories they write around the photos may not be real.  i think photos #7, #9, #14, and #12 make a great sequence and tells a story by itself.  i would title it "upwardly mobile." :)

Anonymouse

These pictures are still real.

by Anonymouse on

They are not photo-shoped, are they?  When Islamic Republic falls we'll see photos of Ahmadi in afro and wide leg jeans with a big gold chain hanging over his hairy chest in a silk purple shirt!  Or his wife in mini skirt dancing baba karam!

Arteshbod Jam, the first 4-star Iranian General passed away in London back in 2008.

Manijeh Jahanbani is related to General Nader Jahanbani, but not his sister. General Jahanbani has 2 brothers who were both high ranking military officers.

I Also confirm Mihandoust's comments regarding this Institute

"Its creation goes back to the early days of the revolution whereby personal documents were retrieved from confiscated residences by the Mostazafan foundation and placed in a confiscated home on Fereshteh Street in tehran. Later on the compiled documents and pictures became the archive of a center (Institute!!) specifically created for misinformation and propaganda under the guise of academic studies."

Yes Prince Gholam Reza is Still Alive and lives in Paris and Indeed his wife is Princess Manjineh. Not sure if she is Jahanbani's Sister though but you maybe right.

Gholam Reza Pahlavi's last public appearance was last summer at the Commemoration of Shojaeedin Shafa's life at the French Ministry of Culture:

EMINENT PERSIANS: Hadi Khorsandi and Shahbanou Farah at French Ministry of Culture (13th July, 2010)

Here is PRince Gholam Reza's Official Website:

Do you know if Gholamreza Pahlavi and Fereydoon Jam are still alive? and Where are they?  Is Manijeh Jahanbani   the sister of general Nader Jahanbani?

Where were you the day this blog was posted, my friend?

Thanks, Mihandoost.

Now I wonder who is there to separate the facts from fiction. Has any organization/foundation offically rebutted IICH's publications? Do you know some names associated with this wing of IRI?

The Institute for Iranian Contemporary Historical Studies

by Mihandoust on

One note: The so called  Institute for Iranian Contemporary Historical Studies is not a professional research or academic center as it portrays to be. It is one of the many official propaganda centers of the Islamic Republic.

The institute is funded and part of the Mostazafan and Janbazan foundation. Its creation goes back to the early days of the revolution whereby personal documents were retrieved from confiscated residences by the Mostazafan foundation and placed in a confiscated home on Fereshteh Street in tehran.

Later on the compiled documents and pictures became the archive of a center (Institute!!) specifically created for misinformation and propaganda under the guise of academic studies.

The fictitious memoirs of Hossein Fardoust are one such product of the institute

Reza Khan vs Barack Hussain which is more unlikely? I'd say O

by Anonymouse on

Less than 50 years after blacks were allowed to enter the same restaurants and sit on the same bus and less than 10 years after America was attacked by Islamic radicals unleashing Islamophobia throughout the country and a war with a country with public enemy number 1 being Saddam Hussein, a young black person with the name of Hussein was elected by a majority vote!

In Iran at the time the way to get on top was through violence.  There were no TV or internet to show how much violence is being used here or there.  He who got the most firepower and manpower and chutzpa would succeed.

Had a young Khoemini had the backing of British or Russians or Americans at the time AND was interested in sex toys (sorry military :-) he'd have climbed on the machine gun and established an Islamic Republic or kicking Soviets out back then.  But he didn't have any backing or the tools so he did it 50 years later during retirement!

Now as far as the fashion and demeanors of WWI vs WWII they are 2 or 3 decades apart so comparing them is like comparing 50s, 60s and 70s.  They were each top of the line at their time.

This constant desire to call Pahlavis "patriots" is like a spoiled prissy brat wanting to be complimented about her beauty all the time!  She is beauuuuuutiful!  They were paaaatriooots!   Khodaya shokret!

Nationalism ought to be totally distanced from anything Political Period. To say that they should be two congruent Units is really missing the point and creating a seriously vague and enigmatic definition of the the term nationalism (or rather the concept).

I hate it when some people and faaylosophers/teenkers:0/hokama va olama throw nationalism into a mix with so many other things.

I love my nation. I do what is best for my nation and its interests, regardless of the political trends of my time. The rest is just Jafangiat.

Historical Facts

by Faramarz on

Well, it all looks like a joke now, but let’s look at the way it was back in 1946.

The Soviet troops were in the north of Iran and with no intensions of leaving.

There were 3 UN resolutions (#2, 3 & 5 of the new UN, //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_Nation... ) demanding that the Soviets leave Iran.

US President Harry Truman sent a letter to Stalin telling him that if he does not get out of Iran there will be a 3rd world war and a nuclear confrontation. Stalin ignored the warning.

In Azarbaijan, there was a big problem with the pro Soviet Toodeh party and Jafar Pishehvari who was inciting communist propaganda and seeking separation from Iran. And the late Shah, as a young monarch stepped into all of this!
