Will Iran be allowed to progress in AC 2011?

Everyone knows my thoughts and beliefs about how IRI controls IFF and TM, and we have seen how on numerous occasions TM has underperformed by officials deliberatly using tactics to ensure the
collapse of the team. The idea being to cause unhappiness and depression amongs the population to prevent them coming out into the streets and
celebrating Iran's achievements as those celebrations could and would
most definitely turn into anti IRI demonstrations.

Now we have seen Iran do very well and top its group and are one of the favourites
to atleast progress to the semis, but my question is will IRI and their
agents within IFF and TM camp allow the team to play to their potential
and get to the final?

I don't believe the IRI thugs will allow this to happen but am happy to discuss and read other people's points of view.

It was a great game. I almost watch the whole thing. I have to admit, Iran is much much better than a year ago. I am glad Gotbi got rid of old players. We now play like European teams

No worries. He (ghotbi) has saved the best for last. We have a number of good players we can rely on to win against Korea.

No. this was the last match of the preliminary round / group stage games. BAsed on the outcome of this game and the current standins, Iran and Iraq took the first and second places, respectively and will advance to the 1/8 round , where we will face the S. korea team and They will take on Australia and the winner of those matches will be going through to the seminfinal round. I am not sure exactly what time but we will be playing on Saturday.

Good news, so can one of you update those of us who are not

as soccer savy or don't have the latest and greatest info?. If I understand correctly, this was quarter final, so does that mean that now we made it to semi final? If answer is yes, who are we playing? Is that South Korea? when will it be? Please provide those of us who don't track this information as religiously some update, thanks guys.
