symbolic lashes/hangings sound better than real ones

ایکاش اعدام ها را هم فقط در خواب می دیدیم
ولی افسوس که این کابوس را حقیقی می یابیم
مطمعنّم که این کابوس پایانی دارد
ولی افسوس که عمّامه را ضدّ حقوق بشر می یابیم

آناهید جان بسیار زیبا! تا کی‌ ما باید این کلمات قصیر رو بشنویم؟

From the beginning Islamic Republic has been coming up with these stupid metaphors and words in our vocabulary!  Day after day!  Non stop!

They're like grouse hiding their heads in sand thinking no one sees them whereas they become more and more laughing stock of everyone.  They must pay a ministry to come up with these stuff!

او تاکید کرد: برخلاف آنچه رسانه های اقتدارگرا سعی در القای آن دارند، حکم شلاق برای سمیه توحیدلو دقیقا اجرا شده و مانند همه خانم‌ها که حکم شلاق آنها را از روی لباس اجرا می‌کننند، به همین نحو اجرا شده است. از نوشته‌ی مسئولانه و متواضعانه‌ی ایشان هم که گفته‌اند اجرای شلاق در واقع «نمادین» و با هدف تحقیر بوده، نباید اینطور برداشت شود که شلاق زده نشده است. دقیقا زده شده و تنها ایشان از سر تواضع و برای اینکه هیچ اغراق و کار غیر اخلاقی انجام نشود یا دوستانش نگران نشوند، توضیح داده‌اند که زدن شلاق اینطور نبوده که بدن ایشان را زخم کند یا جای آن باقی بماند. بلکه بیشتر به قصد تحقیر بوده است.

نغمه در نغمه ی خون غلغله زد، تندر شد

-شب خودکامه که در بزم گزندش، گل خون

زیر رگبار جنون جوش زد و پرپر شد

Faramarz, as you note

The fake execution or edaame namadeen; I came to learn after writing this poem, is a term used for when a priosner thought they are executing him/her but it was a torture. Even though I did not know this earlier whe I wrote this poem, as you see in my poem I talk of Zoya who will visit her farzand with Eynak va aasa. Most prisoners and executed people in 1980s were in their 20s so when I write about Zoya with Aasa, I am giving high probability to the fact that even though Zoya was not executed in this parallel scenario, she was tortured. Farhad and Shirin are not in Iran either. There is no easy way to talk about this except to admit that our minds simply sometimes cannot grasp all the sicknesses of IRI.

Here is my take on it.

When someone like Somayeh does not pay the fines and instead goes to Evin and says that she is willing to take the 50 lashes, it humiliates the jailor and the torturer because they have failed to put fear in her heart. She has the higher moral ground and is telling them that their lashes do not scare her.

So in return the jailors give her the "fake" lashes, as if saying that she is not worthy of the real punishment because she is a woman and weak. 

It is all a head game to humiliate the victim and hold the upper hand like the fake executions.

I am trying to learn more about this. All I know is that when I heard that it was a

I could not help wish that there were an element of not truth to all the executions that happened. However, I am not knowledgeable about all sicknesses of IRI and terminology usd for them. As a matter of fact, people much more in the know than me; have also had some confusion. regarding

شلاق نمادین 

 In any case, IRi mentality and and an average person mentality are totally different.

یاد سعید سلطناپوربخیر

 یاد سعید سلطناپوربخیر، شعری داشت  که این گونه آغاز می شد : (تصور می کنم از کتاب آواز های بند )
  اگرچه از تب تند شکنجه می سوزم، زخون ریخته خورشید ها می افروزم.  
 در قرون متمامدی - کشور ما همواره تحت کنترل مستبدی بوده که هرچه خواسته با مردم کرده، تا جایی که جز شعر نوشتن  راهی  برای بیان تجربه نبوده، پس  شکنجه شده دل خود را خوش به تغییری در آینده کرده.  
در مورد سعید سلطانپور، شکنجه گر جای خود را به اعدام گر داد.  در این مورد برخی می گویند، غلط کرد به شکنجه شدن  اعتراض کرد،  حقش بود که به دست اینها اعدام شد.  لابد ما هم باید از این روزهای قتل و آدمکشی همه پشیمان از گذشته باشیم و در حسرت روزهای خوب شکنجه......

   البته بدون امید نمی توان زندگی کرد.

As you noted, some people don't think it will end soon, and some think it will end soon. Just today Esfand jan, wrote in a blog on IC that he thinks downfall of IRI will be finanacial crisis. Dear Vildemose, thanks for your comment.
