In the name of God the compassionate, ever merciful

When one speaks of love, immediately a caring person will bring the thought of their spouse, offspring, friends and their community and the rest of humanity in mind.

But for the real believers it goes even further than that. For them the highest form of love is towards God first. That is because it is the love and true understanding of their Creator that opens their heart to have true love and understanding for the humanity.

In this regard, it is noteworthy to mention the name of one person who was also a great symbol of love for the believers, the one named Seyed-Al-Shohada, who is also known in Iran as Molayeh Eshgh (Imam of Love), Imam Hussein (AS).

Imam Hussein (AS) stood for many good things and most importantly his sacrifice at Karbala, but the reason for the event of Karbala was his pure and absolute love for God. He could have lived the rest of his life like most others by submitting to injustice, but he decided not to. So his sacrifice was not to shorten his own life but instead to make a symbol for the whole world to see.

All of the divine Imams have a special love for God and there is a Sureh in the holly Quran, especially for them and their friends and true supporters:

Yunus, Verse 62:
"No doubt! Verily, the Awliya' of Allah [See *Note], no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve"
(*Note: According to Imam Ali (AS), 'Awliya' of Allah' are the divine Imams and those who faithfully follow them. He also has specifically indicated that this verse was meant for the divine Imams (AS))

In particular, the above verse most fittingly fits Imam Hussein (AS). Surely he and his true followers had nothing to fear nor did they ever grieve before they gave their lives in the way of God. Even though he was the grandson of the Prophet Mohammad (SAWW), like most divine Imams, he was not a person in a great position of power and did not have much facility. Yet he provided the guidance that was required of him. So another most important lesson from the event at Karbala is the true trust and love of God put into display by Imam Hussein (AS).

Those assigned to guide the believers have much love for God and with only minimum needed facility can move forward in the way of God. However, some never stop in trying to create 'fitna' between them and their true supporters.

Thank you for reading this.
