In the name of God the compassionate, ever merciful

Perfect is typically described as something or someone that is accurate, exact and correct, that is without flaws or shortcomings, needs no guidance, is excellent, complete or absolute.

The objects that are described as perfect, for example are a perfect geometric shape, or a perfect solution to a problem.

In case of human beings, a perfect person is the one who makes no mistakes, the one who can do something without any problems encountered.

The fact is that nothing or no one in this world has been perfect, because this world is not made to look perfect and nothing is finite. So everything created will decay, erode, cease to function or die eventually.

All things are based on the physical laws of this world as we know it and even a perfect geometric shape is not really perfect due to microscopic distortions, nor is there really a perfect solution to a problem because the issues themselves are dynamic in nature.

Even the humans cannot be considered perfect because from the moment of birth as they gain understanding, they need to be corrected and guided to the right path of life, which hopefully they will take as progress on.

But for those who believe, this even goes further. Even all of God’s advanced and intelligent creations are not perfect and are all in need of guidance. This applies to the Angels and Men and all others.

Consider the following from Sureh Al-Baqara, Verses 30 to 32:

“Thy Sustainer (God) said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to establish upon earth one who shall inherit it (The Human kind)." They said: "Wilt Thou place on it such as will spread corruption thereon and shed blood -whereas it is we who extol Thy limitless glory, and praise Thee, and hallow Thy name?" [God] answered: "Verily, I know that which you do not know.”

And He imparted unto Adam the names of all things; then He brought them within the ken of the angels and said: "Declare unto Me the names of these [things], if what you say is true.

(Angels replied) Perfect art Thou in Thy glory! No knowledge have we save that which Thou hast imparted unto us. Verily, Thou alone art all-knowing, truly wise. Glory to Thee, of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom.”

Clearly as God Almighty guided the Angels to the truth, he guides men to the truth as well either directly or indirectly, as per Sureh Ash-Shura, Verse 51:

"It is not fitting for a man (human being) that God should speak to him except by inspiration (revelation for Prophets), or from behind a curtain (indirectly), or by the sending of a messenger to reveal, with God's permission, what God wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise."

All men whether they are the greatest of the Prophets or Imams or the upright require God’s guidance to stay out of error and head towards the divine light. In case of God’s Messengers, they passed on the divine guidance through the holy books as guidance for all. For us Moslems we have one of God’s perfected creations, the Holy Quran and as per Sureh Hud, Verse 1:

“(This Quran is) a Book, the Verses whereof are perfected, and then explained in detail from One (Allah) Who is All-Wise (and) Well-Acquainted (with all things).”

And for Islam we have Sureh Al-Maeda, Verse 3:

“This day, I (God) have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.”

Finally this world that is created by God almighty is a proving ground for us believers and it is perfected for its purpose because it seems so imperfect. For if this world truly seemed perfect then those who could not see, would have surely known that there is a creator behind it.

So clearly perfected things can only be created by a perfect being and it is only God the creator of all that exists, who is perfect. It is he who can guide his creations to the right path and perfect things for their sake and hence the title of perfect only applies to him.

As a final note, I would like to indicate that the life examples that have been and will be provided in my blogs do not correlate with my personal life, unless I specifically mention them to be so. These are general examples that are merely created to give one a point of reference and some clarity. I have now declared this truth in earnest.

Thank you for reading this.
