by Maryam Hojjat on Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:57 AM PDTI agree withyou on this that Shah was not as a puppet as he was portryed especially in the end he was trying hard to do things for Iran & Iranians rather than US. He had made some mistakes but I believe he cared for Iran & Iranians to his best knowledge & ability.

by ariane on Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:37 AM PDTI was simply outlining the empty promises of independence...
I agree with you, in today's world independence means nothing. Look at the US and its monetary dependence on china...
As for Shah, I think its safe to say that he wasn't as much a puppet as they portrayed him to be...We all know that now! This was another empty propaganda we fell for!
We never have had independence but Dictatorship!
by Maryam Hojjat on Mon Aug 22, 2011 08:44 AM PDTShah & Shikh both did not bring us independence but authoritarian regimes. Shah was a popet of US & Shikh are popets of Russia & China. No independence for anyone. If you want to be honest we are all dependent on each other. Golobaly the independence does not have any meaning. Even Western countries are dependent on eastern countries.
