Title:
Development Director

Opening:
Independent Contractor / Part-time Position.

Reporting to:
Executive Director

Salary:
Commensurate with experience & education with performance bonus.

Immediate

Responsibilities:
•    Research and present a list of all potential sources of funds for Farhang Foundation
•    Initiating, plan and coordinating fundraising activities with other members of team
•    Work closely with Farhang board to set fundraising strategy, and to establish targets (1 year / 5 year)
•    Manage relationships with corporate, institutional and individual donors and keep Farhang top-of-mind for potential donors
•    Lead fundraising projects with a hands on approach
•    Write proposals for all fundraising efforts
•    Maintain records of all contacts with potential donors and sources of funds
•    Matching potential sources to specific Farhang projects
•    Respond to requests / inquires by potential donors regarding specific programs
•    Provide the board with periodic reports on the state of the donor community and fundraising efforts

Qualifications:
•    Superior verbal and written communication
•    Fluent in English and Persian
•    Passion for Iranian art, culture and heritage
•    Understanding of current interests of philanthropic community
•    Knowledge of institutional fundraising processes, including seeking of grants
•    Experience and success in fundraising, including writing of proposals
•    Rolodex of contacts within the Persian potential donor community a plus

About Farhang Foundation:
Farhang Foundation is a non-religious, non-political and not-for-profit
foundation established in 2008 to celebrate the art and culture of
Iranian-Americans in its widest extent. The foundation supports
academic activities in Southern California by funding university
programs, publications and conferences. The foundation also supports
cultural programs such as celebration of Nowruz and Mehregan, theater,
dance performances, films screenings and poetry reading in Southern
California. Farhang Foundation, in cooperation with various cultural
and academic institutions plans major programs and exhibitions about
