good articla bitamg, we are definitly the underdog

by dingo daddy En passant on

As the Israeli delegation has its hands full with a very tight
schedule in the week leading to the oscars, with daily events on behalf
of Jewish organizations in Los Angeles, it is interesting to examine how
it is with the competition, given the political sensitivity of the
matter.

While Joseph Cedar has landed in the U.S. two weeks ago, Iranian
director of “A Separation” Asghar Farhadi is set to arrive just for the
weekend of the ceremony. After all, he does not have a formal
representation such as a consulate to welcome him during his stay. “In
general there is a sense of pride with positive news of the achievement,
unlike what you usually see about the Iranian people in the mainstream
media”, says Bita Milanian of “Butterfly Buzz”,
a community organizer and public relations specialist within the
Iranian American community, “but no major events planned for the
director or staff, as far as I know”.

Oscar for Asghar

Hopefully.

And if any talented budding Iranian film directors/producers are reading this, please be notified that I'm available for auditions and casting. I don't have much in the way of acting talent, but I'm desparate to become rich and famous and rub shoulders with the Kardashians.
