Every year, at about this time, the Islamic Republic puts on display its military might and every year I scratch my head trying to figure out who these guys are trying to scare!
Starting with the big picture above, these guys look like the contestants in the Gladiator’s Show trying to knock their competitors into the pool!
Then there are the annual Mardi Gras and Rio Carnival costumes; the Chubaka Brigade from Star Wars!

clowns in action
by mahmoudg on Wed Apr 20, 2011 07:37 AM PDTall a desparate attempt to show the world, no sorry to beg the world not to attack them. They are showing that even the military forces can be a good circus bunch. In other words a desparate plea to the US and Israel, please dont bomb the heck out of us, see we are clowns and we can be joked with, please please pleaaaaaaaase.
There is a reason for these ridiculous attire worn by soldiers.
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Wed Apr 20, 2011 07:28 AM PDTTo ridicule and marginalise them.
The biggest enemy of dictators is their own citizens Not the foreign enemy. Regular armies are to protect the borders of the country against foreign invasion. The islamist regime learnt it's lesson from Shah's downfall, not to ever rely on it's regular army for fighting the internal popular revolts. The "armed forces" of the islamist regime are Basij and revolutionary guards. These entities are there to protect the islamist egime from it's biggest enemy, the Iranian people.
