I’ve noticed that NIAC’s Internet Response Team ™ is getting lazy and instead of relaying NIAC’s talking points (straight from their Fact Book ™) in a more creative and subtle manner, they’ve resorted to repeating it verbatim from the said Fact Book ™. One point that these team members like to make is that if you don’t like NIAC, start your own organization. There are two points that are to be made in this statement: 1) don’t criticize NIAC, 2) there are no Iranian-American/human rights organizations other than NIAC; hence, you have to go make one from scratch if you don’t like NIAC.
This observation has not gone unnoticed by others and you may find another comment (below) that has alluded to this popular euphemism. And some actually have tried to be creative but still their words come out like clumsy yes-men. And of course, there are standard retorts for those who have actually taken NIACis on their advice/threat in making a case for creating an organization which is usually in the form of ridicule. For you enjoyment, I’ve included a sample (there are tons more) of “start your own organization” rhetoric by the “usual suspects” (sorry for stealing this term from NIAC; just this one time ;):

I don't know why some people think they know better than you what you should say and how you should run your own organization.

onlyiran, agreed on your
by hamsade ghadimi on Tue Nov 08, 2011 07:18 AM PSTonlyiran, agreed on your venn diagram analytical reasoning. the poetry thing, or arts in general, is where people from opposite ideological views can find common ground. there has been research done where a democrat living in predominantly republican neighborhoods leans more toward the right because he sees the republicans in a more human light (carpooling, mowing lawn together, etc.). it also reminds me of ahmadi reciting shahnameh in the hamayesh bozorg to some of the very people who were recruited to take arms in jang-e narm.
as far as poli-econo-religion expert, there's a chance she's taking another sabbatical from i.com to confirm her belief that iranian women are very content with their religion and hejab in iran. i still feel her presence though through the voice of her kindred spirits sounding like some young iranian women frolicking through patch of flowers and writing anti-war poetry. i just got teared up and got a boner at the same time with that visual.
Mathematically speaking
by Onlyiran on Tue Nov 08, 2011 06:34 AM PSTnot all NIAC supporters are IRI supporters. But all IRI supporters (on IC at least) are NIAC supporters. Also, not all poets are IRI supporters, but IRI supporters on IC are either poets or they love poetry. Conclusion: all NIAC supporting IRI lovers on IC are poets or they love poetry.
Speaking of which, where's NP 2.0 these days? Haven't seen her around lately.

Sounds to me as if they are doing their own brand of , and I mean in general, "jaw, jaw, jaw", so,
Perperizi, get up and start your own organization. I'm serious. Why
should one organization claim to be all your voices over there, when
very clearly, it isn't?
Set it up. Won't cost you a penny. If people believe in it, they'll contribute their services for free and gladly. ..."

by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Nov 07, 2011 09:56 PM PSTmashti,
frankly, i don't think the advice "start your own organization" has been a motivator for anyone to do just that. and whoever pdmi is, i don't think it has enough funds to hire an editor. nonetheless, i share his sentiment when it comes to a certain lobby group.
maybe for my next blog, i discuss the term "two sides of the same coin" when describing iran-israel, iran-u.s., or u.s.-israel. i'm looking for a 3-sided coin to cut down on the discussion. btw, do you know what's the probability of getting head or tail when flipping a fair coin?

by Mash Ghasem on Mon Nov 07, 2011 05:02 PM PSTInteresting reading. Who needs "People" magazine or the "National Inquirer," when we have all this internal gossip going on! Inquiring minds wanna know:
Would PDMI be a by-product of the above 'advise,' or other 'dynamics' are at work?
Now I'm all confused.
What's PDMI?!
