Taleghani

by Saead Soltanpour on

ba salam

1- Taleghani and MOntazeri were different since they really paid the price for their belives against totalrian regime in Iran ( Mohamaed |reza Shah) . raleghani was not such an celgy to cencor his self under the MUllan common tactiv " taghiye" . he was spoken out and he was detained and jailed for ecpression of his ideas by Savak.

Talegahni was among afew Celrgies who relied on Quran rather than Fegh .

2- Talegahni attitude was right . he was looking to the roots of a problem not the face of the problem .

for instance  in 1358- 1989 when some hardlliner " motashereen " shut down " Ghalee" Faheshkhane " , they came to Taleghani's house at " picheshemiran "  he told them go back and tell them " seyed Mahmodud Told to open it up , which they did and the place was opened up.

he believed the government has to provide the welfare of those victim.

3- if he was alive , he could not be resist and has been under house arrest such as MOntazeri . the right wing celrgy such as Rafasanjani and Hoze could not tolerate Taleghani

4- If Taelghani was laive , Mojaheidn and Rajvai could be saved by the such as pwoer greedy < masoud Rajavi ,

when Sadai was arrested for the spinoge charges for Russia . Taleghani told to Rajavi and Khaiabani that " ghore nashode maviz shodeid "

since Mojaheidn wanted to connect directly to russia since they did believed Hezbe toude was not passing rigth informantion about iranian movement to the russian which has caused wrong decision against iran in the past.

At the time of the '79 revolution many Islamic figures did and said many things that made a lot of sense, but my problem with them and Melli-Mazhabi or Shariati crowd is that at the end they all end up in the same place.

The only religious figure that I have some respect for is Sistani, who has been sitting quietly in Najaf and staying out of the politics. The best Molla is a quiet molla!

Also, as a side note, I have a soft spot for those Iranian patriots who were executed by Khomeini, Khalkhali, Mojahed, Bani-Sadr, Bazargan, Yazdi, Ghotbzadeh and the rest on the roof of Jamaran without any trials or due-process. For many of them, their only crime was that  they loved Iran and they stayed behind because they wanted to help build a better Iran.

On taleghani's support for MKO/Rajavi

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

Dear MRX and Maziar: I think that his words of support for MKO and any other political organistaion should be viewed within the context of the time. Just after the Revolution, the roles these groups played in it, and before MKO sided with Saddam, their stupid, suicidal military operation against regime after regime's ceasefire with saddam.

What is important is  taleghani's obvious opposition to the concept of VF, his repeated warnings against the path khomeini was taking our country, His vision of a "democratic Islamic Republic", where "people's councils" , not a "vali faghih" make the decisions (see the video clip I posted earlier), before he was murdered , as all evidence point to, on direct orders of Khomeini.

I believe that Taleghani, and relatively small circle of clerics around him, posed the biggest ideological threat to Khomeini and his much larger gang of islamo fascists (with or without turban!!) than the entire opposition at the time put together. That is why he was murdered.

MRX

wish he was alive

by MRX on

becuase as time would have passed, people would have seen his true character and nature which was/is not that far apart from folks running the show now. He was a spritual mentor to MKO (A group that you guys love so much) and he was indeed supporter of all the blood bath and executions of miletrary personel after the islamo facist coup of 1979.  Glad he is dead once less mullah to deal with.

First Amendment

.

by First Amendment on

The circumstances surrounding his sudden death have remained questionable based on the fact that there was not enough room for two leaders....but we all know that Khomeini had no role in his death.......anyway..............It's hard, if not impossible, and somehow useless to speculate on historical what-ifs........One thing is for sure though......if he had lived long enough, then either Pedar Taleghani would've been killed in an MKO's safe house, or Masoud had taken another path.........and then we would've known whether or not Sa'adati affair was in fact an act of espionage............

A good blog, nonetheless..........

some of the mollahs were humane

And late Tleghani was sure one of them.

I don't know why he was in prison in the 50's

But I know he called Rajavi like his own son!!

Friends, you are wrong about Taleghani.

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

faramarz jan, no , he would not be in camp ashraf! Yes, he was a clergy and believed in shia Islam. But his interpretations, what he wanted our country to be like, were quite different from likes of Khomeini and khamenei and co. He was for sure at the very democratic end of the Shia clergy, 180 degrees out of phase with khomeini!.

I invite you and mr mort gilani to watch this video clip and judge him for yourself..

And Thank you Mr. Delkhasteh for sharing this interesting blog with us.

Taleghani at Camp Ashraf!

by Faramarz on

If Taleghani was still alive, he would have probably been in charge of Camp Ashraf and in negotiations with Hillary to move to Camp Liberty and get de-listed. Or he would have been residing in Paris and meeting regularly with Newt and Guiliani!

Selective Memory of the Past

by Mort Gilani on

Didn't this mullah condone the savage killings of Iranian military personnel right after the revolution?  In fact, he encouraged the killings in many ways.  In my book, this guy was another Shariati type anti-Iranian charlatan, and a complement of Khomeini.
