Next time someone asks you about the alleged sane world's democracy promotion adventure in the middle-east show them these two stories:
US threat to Palestinians: change leadership and we cut funds
US threatens to stop Lebanese aid if Hezbollah leads government, says report
How can we trust the alleged sane world to bring democracy to the region if they are not willing to let the people in the region practice it?

by MOOSIRvaPIAZ on Thu Jan 27, 2011 01:50 AM PSTI dont wish Hezbollah on anyone. I am ultimately making the point that when it comes to democracy non-Iranians cannot be relied upon to choose what is best for Iran because they are after their own interests. We cant put all of our eggs in their baskets, which many Iranians in exile seem to be doing.

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Jan 27, 2011 12:51 AM PSTI find your take on this mind boggling. Knowing what you know about Hezbollah and what it has done to Iran, why would you wish it on the poor Lebanese people? Is the US throwing its weight around? Yes. Is it ultimately good for the people of Lebanon? Yes.
I agree that when you try to impose your will on others it does cause resentment but in the case of Lebanon and forcing them to shun Hezbollah it is a blessing in disguise.

by Roozbeh_Gilani on Wed Jan 26, 2011 12:41 PM PSTYou can scream jew , zioonnist and hassan nassrullah on internet till kingdom comes, but the fact remains that 97 Iranians, many political prisoners, who were executed by the islamist regime, in Januaray 2011 alone, gave their lives not for your beloved Gaza or lebanon or hassan nassrullah, but for Iran! Iranians will get rid of the islamist regime, with or without US of A, so start looking for new jobs!

I am not an Islamist and the reason I post this entry is because I care about my country and motherland and do not wish it harm by self interested foreign countries (which have every right to follow their own interests).
" When was

Dont get defensive now. Different people serve different functions. There are many people on Iranian.com who do that job better than I can (except for propagandist Fred who does not hide his agenda in every post he makes). you have answered your own question here:
"BTW, you should not rely on the "sane" world for democracy. You are
supposed to embrace it yourself"
You were spot on here and then you joined the road to nowhere...
"your beloved religion is
incompatible with democracy. Just ask the VF institution which is
certainly NOT democratic - Filtering candidates and allowing only the
extreme hardliner islamists to run is not democrayc. It is making a
mockery of a nation who's had it with you people for 32 years."
Nice try but I have no religion.
"Face it, you people have blown it and need to GTF out and let competent
people run the country. May be we can save what little is left after the
looting."
Maybe you should quit being so emotional over everything and not brush everyone with the same brush?
Wish you had this kind of zeal for Iran

Everything (with you specially) is israel this, palestine that. When was the last time you blogged about the atrocities of your beloved Islamic regime? When was the last time you blogged about Chechnya? Your muslim "brothers" there have been suffering under Russia for a good while now........Why is it always palestinian this, south lebanon that? Aren't there other opressed muslims who long for the same loving care (money baby) you provide to your palestnian "brothers"? Same people who hate our guts because we are Iranian?
BTW, you should not rely on the "sane" world for democracy. You are supposed to embrace it yourself, but no, your beloved religion is incompatible with democracy. Just ask the VF institution which is certainly NOT democratic - Filtering candidates and allowing only the extreme hardliner islamists to run is not democrayc. It is making a mockery of a nation who's had it with you people for 32 years.
Face it, you people have blown it and need to GTF out and let competent people run the country. May be we can save what little is left after the looting.

by Mehdi on Tue Jan 25, 2011 01:38 PM PSTLet's see a country that has annihilated a whole race and took over their land, dropped atomic bombs on innocent civilians for no reason at all, engaged in Vietnam and Korea wars for purely political and greed reasons and is helping a religiously fronted aggressive terrorist regime kill and murder daily, now wants to make every country a democratic nation. Hmmmm. I'd buy that. I am that gullible. Honest, I am.
Should Iran plan on having a 'Shoraye USA' in its future
by Bavafa on Tue Jan 25, 2011 01:25 PM PSTIn the future Iranian system/government, should Iranians clear each candidate thru 'Shoraye USA' as oppose to now being 'Shoraye Negahban' ?
I am really hoping for some logical discussion without jabbing at each other about this and our future, if we are ever going to hope for a democratica and independent Iran.
