At Death’s Door

 .

.

.

“So young and vibrant.”

“She was so strong and beautiful.”

I heard them say.

How could anyone have known?

                                    Why did we not know?

"We would have saved her."

If only, we had known.

That she was standing at death's door.

All that remains now

are many questions,

                                     pain and great sorrow.

How do we let go?

The memories of you

still linger in our hearts.

So many lives

you greatly touched.

Your dreams

Your smile and laughter.

Still remains, so.

Must we really let you go?

It is truly sad,

that no one,

knew that you were

standing at Death’s door.

In loving memory of Patricia.
