I am writing this in real time. There are significant points mentioned in Obama's speech that give hints on his future Iran strategy. The points are not new but there are subtle hints that potentially military action has to be used to maintain peace and then he mentions the protesters and countries that break the nuclear treaty.
The full trasnacript from Huffington post:

There were many points such as:
... Those who care for their own security cannot ignore the danger of an arms race in the Middle East or East Asia. Those who seek peace cannot stand idly by as nations arm themselves for nuclear war....
... But it is also incumbent upon all of us to insist that nations like Iran and North Korea do not game the system...
...to the hundreds of thousands who have marched silently through the streets of Iran...

A war with Iran could escalate to a genocide
by ramintork on Thu Dec 10, 2009 04:17 PM PSTI was keen to hear Obama's speech because I will be writing an article next week and discuss the doomsday scenario that given a war Iran could start a genocide.
An aspect of my day job is to plan for disaster recovery for Banks i.e. if an aircraft falls into a building what to do.
I've turned my head towards a disaster recovery for Iran and a possible but hopefully unlikely scenario.
The nuclear enrichment centres spread around the country could potentially be to hold oil and gas wells hostage. Given a war IRI will use people as human sheilds around these area. It might even build concentration camps around them and place the mass of the population in these areas.
The bunker busting missles required to blow such centres have a small nuclear war head so that they can penetrate deep underground.
Outside Iran, IRI will awaken its sleeper cells, and if they use their enriched nuclear material they could use it as dirty bombs.
A West under nuclear attack and not knowing friend from foe could then place the Iranian community in their homelands under confinement.
In West we are voiceless, and fragmented. We don't have a strong lobby for Human rights. That is why for the last two weeks I've been trying to get the idea of one million votes and the use of Lisbon treaty and citizens' initiative as a basis to try to kick start a campaign and turn our sleeping community outside Iran to this strong lobby.
Unfortunately, so far other than a few friends, bloggers and advising prominent figures this thing has not kicked off. The only person who took it really seriously was an IRI person who subtlly made a death threat because he had checked on Lisbon treaty and the citizens' initative clause after I had spread it in blogs and facebook walls.
A nuclear war even on a small scale could easily wipe out say six million people.
Please watch out for my article when it comes, and take action as war could be coming and it could impact your life even in the west.
We must unite and use our legistlative power as well as win public support before the situation escalates to a war.
thank you for posting this,
by vildemose on Thu Dec 10, 2009 10:50 AM PSTthank you for posting this, Ramin jan. He is basically enumerating his Iran policy because he knows that Iran is under a dangerous military dictatorship in which even the supreme leader and Ahmadinejad have no power.

by AMIR1973 on Thu Dec 10, 2009 09:07 AM PSTOn the walls outside the Ministry of Truth hangs a sign that reads:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
After escalating the Afghan war beyond what Bush (a man of peace) did, Obama (also a man of peace) should just come out and say "War is peace".

also rejected culture as basis to bypass Human rights
by ramintork on Thu Dec 10, 2009 05:42 AM PST... the failure to uphold human rights is excused by the false suggestion that these are Western principles, foreign to local cultures or stages of a nation's development....
