Picture of the day - Serpentine Bench in Park Guell

Gaudi's Serpentine Bench in Park Guell, Barcelona, Spain. The surface is decorated with mosaics of fragmented old ceramics. The angle of this picture does not do justice to the beauty of the bench, for one thing the bench covers a large span and provides a sitting area with an elevated view on the rest of the park. The details of the fragmented discarded ceramics provides such wonderful patterns. This is poetry manifested in architecture.

Oh You remembered!

by ramintork on

Yes I do sculpture too. I did an article on a week I spent doing stone carving in Portland South of UK.

Stone is hard work, I get better results with clay. These days if I get the time which I don't I do quicker tasks but there are a few sculptures sitting in the garage waiting to be molded and cast.

I do a one off print too using linocut.

That work also competes with my writing projects.

To finish these projects what I need is to be able to give up the day job, so I should had married a rich window but I married for love!

Ramin You Sculpt also right ?

by Darius Kadivar on

Was it you who also had been doing some sculptures or breaking stones for your "atelier" ? I think I saw it in a photoessay of yours. That should be very demanding.

As for the Dark side, its funny you mention it cause I realized that some artists can be very creative when they are depressed. Sometimes one can create beautiful and joyfull stuff when totally depressed and on the contrary very Dark and Gloomy stuff when very happy and joyful.

Where do you situate yourself in this spectrum ? ;0)

DK Jaan,

by ramintork on

I love all things beautiful and inspiring!

Funnily enough my drawings and paintings are very different from the photos that I take.

They delve into the darker side of humanity so between the Ying and Yang of my personality you are seeing the positive side.
