زلزله در ژاپن
by Red Wine
11-Mar-2011

Japan disaster to intensify global economic contradictions

by Mash Ghasem on

18 March 2011

In former “normal” times, the Japanese
earthquake disaster would not have led to a global economic and
financial crisis. But those days are long gone. In the present
situation, it could well be the catalyst that sets off a new stage in
the global financial breakdown that began with the collapse of Lehman
Brothers in September 2008.

A central banker from the Group of
Seven major capitalist economies, who declined to be named, told
Reuters: “I think the world economy is going to go right down and it has
happened at a time when financial markets are still fragile.”

Even before the events of last Friday, the global financial system was looking increasingly unstable.

Please Darius jaan, please don't say these things in other places!  We have aberoo that we'd like to keep!  Your friendship on i.com is our honor and it is ghabeeh to say these things!

Israel will do anything?  What is Israel's population, 2 or 3 million?  Can they afford to lose hundreds of thousands perhaps 1 million of their population?  Let's just say they can kill all 70 million Iranians, can they afford to lose 1/3 of their population?  Not necessarily by Iranians but by other Arabs as well.

Times have changed and countries can't go and kill millions without getting noticed.  Israel had to backoff in Lebanon after having 100 of its soldiers killed.  Albeit they turned Lebanon's clock back 10 years as they claimed.

It's not happening Darius jaan.  There are much more serious things to worry about than Israel!  Even Saddam wasn't afraid of Israel and you saw in the height of the invasion in 1990s they sent salvos of their scuds into Israel.  And what did Israel do?  Nothing!

when the core exposed is  there is always contamination and exposure to radiation. The rate of

radiation drops by the distance. For example:

100 mrem at a distance of 4 meter from the source of radiation is

 exposure  rate =100(1/2)^4  = 1oo/16=6.66 mrem

now if you move to 8 meter from the radiation source then the

exposure rate is

100 mrem = 100(1/2)^8 = 100/256=0.39 mrem

dose of radiation is different that contamination. contamination means the fissionable material physically becomes in contact with a

person .

Exposure is  when a biological being is bombarded bythe  gamma particles. There is exposure to pure energy with different level.

Alpha and beta cannot travel for long distances.

If a person  exposed to alpha and beta particles with no inhalation

or ingestion , there is hardly any danger, clothing can be disposed properly. There are methods to  decon the contaminated person.

If one  ingest these two particles( usually  gases are inhaled and then by gettign mixed with mucus is send to digestive system), they are dangerous and by ionizing the cell ( changing water to hydrogen proxide) and having high energy can break the cell bonds and kill the cells.. This depends on the amount taken but usually cells with low dose can repair itself .

The common people are away from the reactor core and the decaying nuclear material , the danger is if they have got exposed

by the I-131 which attacks thyroid, unless the idodine salt is given to them preferably before the air born contamination reach them.

There is a principle followed in any radiation area called ALARA

this  procedure uses time , distance and  shielding to minimize the

readiation danger.

Less time used in radiation area reduce the dose rate.

sheilding ( lead for gamma, beta is stopped by a shielding as thick as a credit card and alpha by thickness of a paper).

distance ,The radiation   is reduced by the distance.

global effects of mega-earthquakes on geography&rotational axis

I was watching CNN and they said that Japan's mega earthquake has moved the island 8 feet closer to America. Compare this to the Banda Aceh quake in x-mas 1994 which moved the island 60 feet.  The effect on the altilude (or submersion) will be measured later after the water drains out.

The scientists also say that the earth's rotational axis has moved 4 inches due to the Japanese earthquake.

My good friend don't you think if Israel attacks Iran (w/ or w/out Obama's green light) salvos of Shahab's 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 or whatever they have in their arsenal would be fired back?

Islamic Republic doesn't care and will send all the Shahabs and if more than half miss the targets and hit other neighboring countries so be it!  As long as some hit Israel they'll be fine.

Do you think Israel can afford to get hit by half dozen medium range missles?  They're not Scuds, improvised Scuds, but not Scuds none-the-less.  Much more deadly payloads.

It is not about whether you or me like it or not.  It is about whether Israel will like it.  A basic benefit and damage analysis.

Darius Kadivar

Friends Do You want more reasons why Israel will act alone ?

by Darius Kadivar on

No one wishes this to happen, myself included, but that is very likely given the dynamics of what is going on in the region.

Bahrain is also falling into the hands of the Islamists most probably due to Iran's indirect meddling.

Gulf states sendforce to Bahrain following protests (bbc)

I wouldn't even be surprised if Obama's administration won't give Israel the Green light in secret only to condemn it publicly. The result would be that all the Gulf ( aka "Persian Gulf" or what is left of that word) States would feel that they can now act to suppress any upheaval in their own countries even without full endorsement from the Americans given that No One gives a Shit about what America has to say anymore.

No regime in the region can count of the US support but paradoxically they may even welcome Israel's Strong Stance as opposed to the Western Powers impotence in Libya.

Arab States know that their own existence was possible because of Israel's controversial creation since 1948. Israel has served as a convenient scapegoat for these regimes towards their own public opinions. Hence distracting them from their own domestic policies.
In addition America's fleet in Bahrain is what guarantees the security of the Persian Gulf ( which prior to '79) was the Job of Iran's Imperial Fleet. If the US loses Bahrain they know that the flow of Oil to the West will be halted or in jeopardy with the IRI moving in as the New "Gendarme" of the "Gulf":

//iranian.com/main/blog/darius-kadivar/pan-iranist-pezeshkpour-objects-shahs-decision-bahrain-independence-1971

America nor the West can afford such a disaster. Unless of course they are as blind as they are with what is going on in Libya.

Either Way Iran's democratic movement is going down the drain for an Attack even Surgical on Iran will push the Military Junta in to oust the Mullah's only partially from the political scene and reinforce their control on the country's political scene.

Don't forget that the likes of Mohsen Rezai also candidate in the last elections have been sitting on the sidelines and probably waiting for an opportunity to move in like an Islamic Napoleon with the goal of safeguarding the Republic.

The Outcome will be that we can say goodbye to any hopes of a democratic change in Iran for at least another 50 years if not more.

You can thank the IRI lobbies in the US for this. They bought the IRI enough time to plan it's own survival at the expense of the Iranian democratic movement:

//iranian.com/main/news/2010/11/08/columbia-conference-war-iran

Only a miracle like a massive uprising can save the "Green" Movement in the months and years to come.

I'm afraid Iran is once again a victim of regional geo politics and Oil which come first before democracy and Human Rights.

My Humble Opinion,

DK

PS:If you wish to beat your enemy the Greatest lesson in History is to try and think like that enemy in order to understand his moves just like when you play chess and not how you wish to see them think. Once you understand who you are dealing with you will know how to manoeuvre towards victory (whatever that term means in your minds). Politics is a cynical game. If you have not learned that by now then I highly recommend you to learn your Basics:

UPDATE 10:00 am, Monday, March 14, 2011. An explosion has occurred at Fukushima
Daiichi Unit 3. Video here: //www.youtube.com/.... This explosion appears to be even more violent and destructive than Saturday’s explosion at Unit 1.

Unit 2 at Fukushima Daiichi is reported to have lost coolant and may be experiencing melting of the core. In a press release, Tokyo Electric Power said: “Given the events at Units 1 and 3, procedures to release hydrogen gas through the walls of the reactor building in advance are now being considered for Unit 2.” We are not clear what Tepco means by this statement.

There is growing concern about the status of irradiated fuel pools at all of the Fukushima reactors. At these reactors, the pools are located inside the outer containment building above the core and, like the reactor cores, require constant cooling. Given that at least the top third of two containment buildings have been blown off, the integrity of the fuel pools is unclear.

17 U.S. Navy members on an aircraft carrier offshore of Japan were discovered to be contaminated with radiation; the U.S. Navy is reportedly moving ships farther away from the Fukushima area.

More than 200,000 people have been evacuated from the Fukushima area

#
1426: Mr Goto says his greatest fear is that blasts at number 3 and number 1 reactors may have damaged the steel casing of the containment vessel designed to stop radioactive material escaping into the atmosphere. More to follow.

#
1431: More from Japanese nuclear engineer Masashi Goto: He say that as the reactor uses mox (mixed oxide) fuel, the melting point is lower than that of conventional fuel. Should a meltdown and an explosion occur, he says, plutonium could be spread over an area up to twice as far as estimated for a conventional nuclear fuel explosion. The next 24 hours are critical, he says.

Japan utility: Nuke fuel rods fully exposed again

TOKYO – A Japanese utility says fuel rods at a troubled nuclear reactor were once again fully exposed hours after authorities were able to stabilize a similar emergency.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. says the exposure happened at Unit 2 of the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant because a steam vent wouldn't open Monday, causing a sudden drop of water.

That reactor and two others at the plant are dangerously overheating and authorities are racing to prevent meltdown.

Fuel rods at the quake-hit Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant's No. 2 reactor were fully exposed at one point after its cooling functions failed, the plant operator said Monday, indicating the critical situation of the reactor's core beginning to melt due to overheating.

The rods were exposed as a fire pump to pour seawater into the reactor to cool it down ran out of fuel, Tokyo Electric Power Co. said. The firm had reported the loss of cooling functions as an emergency to the government
