Word Cup 2010 qaulifier matchday!
June 17,2009
20.00 Local Time
Korea Republic vs. Iran
Seoul World Cup Stadium, Seoul
Few hours later, Saudi Arabia vs. North Korea (local Saudi Time) ! Coencidental? Hellooo, somebody is getting screwed here!!!
The timing of these two very sensitive matches on June 17th,2009 among these four teams is extremely bias and is absolutely in favor of Saudi Arabia and North Korea!!!
First of all, this unfair fixture simply gives a clear advantage to both Saudis and North koreans to adjust their level of desires and commitments for the match between them based on the result between Iran and South Korea that will take place before their match!
More importantly it directly defies and breaks the official rules of FIFA in regards to such sensetive and Do or Die matches during World Cup group qaulifires!
"It has to be mentioned the seeding is based on the achievements in the preivious World Cup campaign. Therefore the reward for Iran being seeded higher than Saudi Arabia and Korea DPR is having to play ahead of them, seems a bit illogical, to say the least.
Why Iran's final group game isn't scheduled a day later as an advantage over the lower seeded teams, is also surprising. If the AFC and FIFA are not able to ensure a fair final matchday, why are the lower seeded teams rewarded and the higher seeded teams, South Korea (already qualified) and Iran is, punished?" Written by Martin Reza Babry on www.persianfootball.com
Now Iran has to fight against all odds yet again and hope that there wont be a compromise between Saudis and N. Koreans on the same day but much later when they already know the result between Iran and South Korea !
FIFA must step in and order AFC to change these very unfair and bias fixtures NOW to ensure the integrity of this sport and competition before the June 17, 2009 matchday among these four teams.
In hopes of Justice and Peace.

Well
by MiNeum71 on Mon Jun 15, 2009 01:16 AM PDTThis 5 teams in a group method is always a very unfair one; you shouldn't forget there is already one team, which has no chance to affect anymore. Imagine this one team would have been Iran, NK or SA.
ALL YOU BRAINS WHO SAY IRAN SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER IN THE FIRST
by tshayan (not verified) on Sun Jun 14, 2009 05:03 PM PDTALL YOU BRAINS WHO SAY IRAN SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER IN THE FIRST PLACE....
I do agree with you, however it's for times like this that final group matches should be played at the same time.... when teams depend on their last match. I'm sure AFC did not do this because they simply "thought" Iran would have made it to WC by now...Let's face it, it's just poor planning. We obviously all want TM to succeed and that's why we complain, but AFC's planning is in every way against us (as well as the south koreans).
two wrongs won't make it right..
If only...
by football322-anonymous (not verified) on Sat Jun 13, 2009 09:05 PM PDTI don't think you or anyone would have a problem if Iran was in first place right now and had more points than any other team. But the fact of the matter is that it doesn't, and the only way they can guarantee to qualify is to beat South Korea, who already qualified.
The Saudi's want to win and not tie... They want 2nd place, and not 3rd... Iran's only hope is to win over S. Korea, and then win Bahrain, and then win New Zealand.
This is world cup qualification... Every team wants to win, even S. Korea, who guaranteed its qualification long before its last game with Saudi Arabia. Yet they still played with integrity and their best. Don't think North Korea will be any different, they will play with all they have, so will the Saudi's. Instead of complaining, you must support your team and hope that they give this last game of this round their best...
Thank you All...

I too understand and accept Team Melli's own short comings due to so many internal Iranian problems and causes...
I also understand your frustrations like any good old Iranian, but that still does not justify the AFC's bias position regarding the matchday!
Fifa rules must be practiced properly and accordingly regardless of which country, why, how and etc.
That was the main point in this comment and I hope you take the proper action for the sake of PRINCIPALS Instead of bashing and insulting !
Peace
fair play
by hamsade ghadimi on Fri Jun 12, 2009 02:45 PM PDTin group play, the last matches are always played at the same time. this is normal practice whether in the afc club championships, wc group play, ... i am surprised that these games are not played at the same time.
Why dont you play properly in the first place
by irannostalgia.com on Fri Jun 12, 2009 02:04 PM PDTInstead of these ridiculous consipiracy theories, you should talk about why Iran played so poorly and lost to Saudi Arabia.
Iran is a weak team and does not deserve to qualify. Because of their poor performance, now they have to win the top team of the group South Korea in Korea. Something they couldnt do in Azadi with the Arabs.
Stop crying and learn to play for gods sakes.
This coming from a guy who paid to go see them perform major "Aberoo rizi" in Germany in the last world cup. They did worst than Anglola. My goodness. Beh kojaa residim!!
NOT AGAIN!!!!

by MiNeum71 on Fri Jun 12, 2009 01:53 PM PDTPlease, not again one of these Tamame Donya Ma ra Nefrin Meekone bullshit writings. What is unfair? That we were not able to make more points? That other teams have made more points? It is only OUR fault that we are in this situation now.
Grow up.
