for Benazir
I am alive
I have arrived
I have slain the enemy within
You have slain me
I have been slain
I have slain myself
I have opened up the sunroof
I have stood and faced my blood
I have died
I have survived
and my blood and the sun now are one.
You have made me the ultimate sacrifice.
I am no longer afraid
Zanam. Shirzanam.
Peerless.
fearless.
I AM UNSLAUGHTERABLE

Here's one of my many favorits:
On this serendipitous journey
of the heart
take away all the issues
and look at love
or something like it:
the unexpected phenomenon
that shakes up your world
like a snow globe
and changes your view.
Everything shifts
into sharp focus and high gear;
too much in too little time.
a level of intensity
hard to sustain
with distractions and obligations
calling you elsewhere;
yet always thinking
of that open door,
flung wide to joy and possibility.
If only you were brave enough
to walk through it
and embrace happiness,
rather than hide
amidst the shadows of fear.

I like her poem:
Never Satisfied
By Tara Bradford
If you love me
you will think I am beautiful
whether or not I am thin
Real beauty
comes from within
and is not related to size
The scope of my heart and intellect
is what matters
any day of the week
So why do I frown
when I look in the mirror;
don't I love myself?

by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Tue Jun 10, 2008 10:19 PM PDTI liked the vintage clothes, antiques and flowers. I am sure the young lady with the nose ring has a bright future ahead of her. However, what does the lovely blog you shared have to do with Benazir, death and dying? Just curious. Was there a particular poem on that blog that I missed?
