Netanyahu praises embassy closure, Canada’s ‘forthright stand’ against Iran In an interview with CBC’s The National that was set to air Sunday night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his support for Canada’s actions.
“I deeply appreciate the position and conviction that was taken by Prime Minister Harper and the government of Canada,” Mr. Netanyahu said, according to the CBC. “I think everyone in Israel appreciates its forthright stand against a regime that brutalizes its own people, that colludes in the murder of tens of thousands in Syria, that denies the Holocaust and calls for the eradication of the state of Israel while pursuing an illicit program for developing nuclear weapons.
“I think that it’s particularly important at this time Canada took a real position and said this can’t go on.”

Mrs. Rajavi welcomed the closure of Canadian Embassy in Tehran and expulsion of Iranian diplomats in Canada Friday, 07 September 2012 19:11 Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance welcomed the courageous act of Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird in closing the Canadian Embassy in Iran and expelling from Canada all the diplomats of the religious fascism ruling Iran.
Homa Arjomand stated, “most certainly what this action has done is to put additional pressure on the Iranian regime for its involvement in nuclear activities, for being a long term enemy of Israel and sustaining the conflict in the Middle East, for taking side in the Syrian conflict by supporting Bashar Assad, for expanding its terrorist activities through its embassy, and most importantly, for realizing that the Iranian regime operates widely in Canada by expanding its ‘ fifth Column’ in Canada.” Arjomand proclaimed that Iran furthers its goals through activities of some Iranian businessmen, bursary students, lobbyists and paid agents.
