I had a good hunch that  Sarah the wise Mama will disappoint the nay sayers & lefto-centric elites of the  Liberal media, Obama mania & Doomsday leftist schizophrenia. Sarah the true warrior of feminism & common sense rocked as Yours truly expected.

Mr Obama the poster child & hollowed dreamer of liberal left is better off to come up with a newer version of his empty sermons "Rozeh-Khooni" or simply lose the show to that "lil hill billy girl" from Alaska whom He so lightly brushed aside as insignificant....  Goes to show You that ;

those who laugh last, laugh the best laugh!!

There's nothing wrong with her handling a firearm (the same cannot be said for Mr. Cheney, however) and in Alaska, as in many other areas of rural wildnerness, hunting is not only accepted, it is fairly common. Controlled hunting actually has shown proven benefits for the population management of the species. Aerial hunting is actually more difficult than traditional static hunting where you pretty much just sit there and wait.

In the Mid Atlantic area of the U.S. for example, the season for hunting whitetail deer has been shortened and regulated to the point that there has been an overpopulation of deer. Some of the results include auto collisions with deer resulting in injuries and death to the driver and/or passenger of the car, not to mention the vehicular damage. There's also been cases of deer crashing into homes and businesses. All of this is the result of trying to appease those who are anti-hunting. This overpopulation also results in many undernourished animals, who are all scrounging for the food. The number of diseased animals have increased dramatcially as well, with many of these diseases (sometimes life-threatening) being passed on to humans.

All that said, it's a matter of personal taste. Hunting isn't my cup of tea anymore, but I don't begrudge anyone who does.

As far as returning the bridge money, it's being described a little too simplistically. It really isn't as though $230 million is sitting in an account at Bank of America. It's never gone beyond being numbers on a spreadsheet. We all know the business of government isn't a cash business.

Thankfully, her personal views on pregnancy and choice are just that.....her personal views. She can shove those ideals down her daughter's throat all day long and twice on Sundays if she likes. But she knows she can never successfuly impose that on 260 million people. Government has no place in this matter whatsoever, either for or against. I think over the next several years, we might see more movement in that direction. But in the meantime, a tremendous amount of unnecessary fear is being raised, leaving reality in the background.

Same with the "task from God" baloney. It may be able to play in Alaska, but it won't play here, and everyone knows that. The press is jumping on that for the same reasons they jump on the daughter being pregnant....they're all just trying to grab ratings for their programming in order to sell advertising at the highest possible rate they can.

what a gorgeous pittbull

by IRANdokht on

note to my dear friend Ebi

Holding and posing with a gun, hunting and killing animals, making areal hunting legal, taking 230 million dollars for a bridge that went nowhere and not returning it to the taxpayers, wanting to push every pregnant teenager or rape victim to follow her daughter's choice and keep the baby, thinking that Iraq war was a task from God, etc... doesn't make her even close to my candidate of choice.

If there was a contest for a dog show or Alaska ice creams I might have voted for her but as a VP... I don't think so!

To Mother of 4

by TheMrs on

I have to defend myself against your last insulting post.

I never said anyone's body was for anything. I couldn't care less. I was following a discussion about beauty and Sarah P. I think it's important because her charisma is what is supposed to be attracting some people and I think there;s nothing wrong with breaking it down and saying what I see.

In my opnion she isn't hot and a mother of 4 at 44 is generally not that hot. Maybe Cher is hot at 88888 but even so, it's up for debate.

In my opinion, women who have had multiple children aren't that hot. You can disagree.

None of this means that a mother isn't beautiful! I can argue that she is more beautiful when she wears the sign of mother hood on her body with pride. But I can't say she can enter miss universe contest.

You want to talk about reality, I'm giving it to you. Age takes beauty. You want to disagree, be my guest. I'm not into chicks anyway.

In today's world, we do not need any more "pitbulls". We have enough of them, Bin Laden, Ahmadinejad, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, John McCain, Khamenei, Putin, Khalid Mashal, Nasrallah, etc...

What the worls needs is sanity and wisdom, and the U.S. as the leader of the free world and the most powerful nation on the planet, should be the epitome of wisdom in leadership, not the "pitbull" in charge!

The report concerning Sarah Palin and the AIP is misleading. Her husband was a registered member of tha AIP from 1995 to 2002. Public records do not show Sarah Palin to be a member of any political party other than the GOP since 1984.

Remember, voter registration records are public. The issue of wthether she was a member is legitimate, but the story is bogus.

Earlier this year, at the AIP convention, Governor Palin addressed the conventioneers via videotape message, to wish them good luck. We all know that's nothing more than political public relations at work.

Secession from the union was an issue that was raised by Joe Vogler, the founder of that party. He claimed to have 25,000 signatures on a petition calling for secession, but never produced a document to prove it. He claimed to have founded the Libertarian Party in Alaska, too. In other words, he was a kook.

I'm not going to sit behind this keyboard and tell you or anyone else that I think this woman is the answer or she's the best candidate or on and on and on. But there's no way that you or anyone else can legitimately avoid the fact that Democratic candidates feel that they and their supporters are entitled to virtually limitless "special dispensation" for shortcomings in their personal lives that reflect negatively on their character.

And, yes, there are indeed Republicans who do the same.

Her decision to have a baby at 44, especially knowing that he would be born with chromosomal disorder is her decision. Unless any of us were in her place, we can't say what we would do. But even if she were a stay at home mom, she would probably still have to have some measure of help with respect to her youngest.

As far as this pregnant teenager, that's another matter. I have zero sympathy for anyone who gets themselves into this situation. It's 2008 and people have had quite a long time to figure out there are ways to avoid pregnancy. The government should not be involved in anyone's sex life, period. Slashing $2 million from teen pregnancy aid? She should have cut out the program entirely.

This brother in law state police stuff... I don't know that much about it....I'll have to get back to you on that.

On the PS, yes they have their personal opinions and views. Therein lies the problem. They govern by shoving those personal opinions down 70 million plus throats. There is no system of checks and balances there.

Here, three branches of government exist: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.

There, one branch: mollahs. (aka My Way Or The Highway)

Sarah Palin: "Iraq war was a task from God"

by Shiraz (not verified) on

For some ignorance and prejudice, and lying and diverting for having more power with its perks, have no limits.

According to Sarah Palin, God gave the task to Americans to invade, attack and occupy Iraq, to kill over 1,000,000 Iraqis, to ruin many millions of lives, and to destroy the country.

Sarah, are you sure God gave you that task and it wasn't from the neocons and those companies who knew they would sack the country's (America's) treasury by attacking Iraq?

Did you receive the "task" via a personal telephone call, a fax, or an email?

From a news article:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

Link to the full article:

//news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080903/ap_on_el_pr/cv...

She's for 4 more years of the same last 8 years of a distastrous government performance, and with its lies and incompetence, and one never knows, maybe with more incoming "tasks" for starting more wars "from God" to the U.S. government.

Tireh khalaas:

Family values and who defines them:

Every family defines their own values. Palin is a hypocrite for preaching one thing (good family values) and living another (absent mom to a 4 month old with disability and a knocked up 17 year old).

I'm not casting stones. As a potential voter I have to analyze what she says and see what she does. I wouldn't vote for Edwards who cheated on a dying wife either.

Being hot:

IMHO a 44 year old with a 4 kids has loose skin & saggy mamehs. You might disagree. But to say age or child birth are inconsequential to a person’s body is unrealistic. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I think maccain is really hot. His age isn't a factor.

Jealousy:

Indeed. I woke up today wishing that I were 44 years old with a bunch of kids, one with a disability. I’m so jealous that she is so hot. I hate that I’m hairy but fat bald and ugly with a bunch of zeegeels on my arms. I WISH I WAS SARAH PALIN SHE IS SO DAMN HOT. I want to go hunting. I wish I was as good looking as her.

Children:

17 is a child by law. One doesn’t have to be 8 to be considered a child. Read SCE blogs.

Bottom line:

I don’t vote for people who preach the lord’s prayer but don’t have time to watch over what their kids are doing in the back seats of cars or don’t have time to take care of their babies or are too fundamentalist to teach their kids about protection. It shows irresponsibility, hypocrisy and stupidity.

"Under age, Hot, Family Vaues!"

by Fishmonger (not verified) on

I love it when people talk about these issues, some without realizing they're putting their feet in their mouthes.

Under age? For a while I was under the impression Palin's daughter was an 8- or 9-year-old kid raped by a Haji who bought her from her parents for a few bucks!

Let's praise the Lord the boy is not being hanged in public for having sex.

Palin being "hot!"

So now "The Mrs." is an expert on women's sensual/ sexual qualities!!!

I tell you Mrs., having been around women long enough, I still hesitate to pass judgement on them by their looks or the number of kids they've had.

Perhaps, you don't know what some women are capable of when they get you into bed or maybe you do know and you are only being mean to Ms. Palin because she's not your type!

Family Values! What are our criteria here? Let's not cast the first stone in such a rush!

PROGRAMED Craig

by americanwife (not verified) on

Ok. I'm not sure why I bother. Why are you being so obtuse? I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall.
I'm going to end my participation in this because it's becoming irrelevant to ANYTHING. You've accused me of being abusive. I simply do not see any justification for that accusation. Being I disagree with YOU? I am simply stating as a mother and a woman that I feel she is not capable of being the best mother to a special-needs infant while taking on the awesome responsbilities of being VP. Having a "support system" would never take the place of being a hands-on mother, especially under these circumstances. I would easily be able to assign certain tasks to my spouse such as taking the kids to the dentist or attending a teacher/parent meeting on occasion. However, and I mean this with every fiber of my maternal being, I could NEVER relinquish the exquisite pain of holding my child in the middle of the night with a fever or a bad dream to his father. Not because a man is unable to provide comfort, but because I,ME, could not rest without knowing that he WAS comforted. So, please, you can accuse me of anything you want, hyprocrisy, whatever. I simply do not believe that she can devote herself fully to the task at hand AND be the kind of mother that child needs. I am not questioning her devotion whatsoever, I just saying I don't think it can be done.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. My intention was never to be abusive.

I read it elsewhere on iranian.com and I think this applies perfectly:

"Arguing with some people is like wrestling with a pig in the mud... after awhile you realize they enjoy it."

dude you are telling us that; to ask the question why she (Palin) has anti American views and member of a party that is want to secede from U.S. is making things up and blowing thins out of proportion just because you think they are her personal opinions? In public life there is no such thing as personal opinions! For example you can't be a racist and run for the office of the Presindent these days. You cant believe that your state should secede from the union and still being able to uphold the constitution of the United States, and most importantly having and projecting sound judgments on the issues and life is at the heart of this debate be it trying to have a baby at age 45 to slashing the funds for pregnant teens in Alaska by $2milion dollars to her daughter being pregnant (Karma) to lying about special pack money and firing of Alaska state police chief because he did not fire her ex-brother in-law since he divorced her sister and so on.

PS. Perhaps you can say Ahmadinezhad, and mullahs have their own personal opinions views too!

And one more thing. If

by TheMrs on

And one more thing.

If Sarah Paling IS about family values, I don't care much if she isn't but that's what she claims. Then let her go back to Alaska. Let her go and extend maternity leave to a respectable 3 years. Let her go back and reform the child care system of her state so that every child has GOOD care at a reasonable rate. Let her make sure every child has access to a pediatrician. Let her go back and help teenage mothers (her future potential boss has been against financial help for unwed teenage mothers). Let her help women with post partum or menapausal depression. Let her go back and provide family men with reasonable flex hours. Let her go back and PROOVE that her family values are genuine. Let her go back and show that feminism isn't just a word to throw around but something she STICKS to.

She can go to Alaska and proove that women in the work force can be productive. She can help create a job market that accepts women in it and gets them to contibute their degrees and skills. No one says women can't work! They SHOULD work. I do.

A 4 month old child needs to be fed something like every 3 hours. He wakes up at night. Let her go back and tend to her child. He will need things like speech therapy. Let her go back and provide it to her child and others who need it. Let her proove that she's a good mom and can be trusted to look out for the interest of those who rely on her.

When she has REALLY proven her family values, let her run for office! A woman can be president.

A lot of you

by Kaveh Nouraee on

are making issues out of non-issues.

Sarah Palin's personal views are being made into a big threat where no threat exists. As VP or president, she cannot effect policy based on her personal beliefs when it's in violation of the Constitution.

The oath of office is to "defend and uphold the constitution", not to "defend and uphold your personal opinion".

Personally, I don't like the fact that she has a pregnant 17 yr old. Not because of her personal beliefs, but because babies having babies makes me want to vomit. In this day and age, there's no excuse for unplanned pregnancy. That baby is going to be yet ANOTHER statistic. I don't care if it was related to Donald Trump.

As far as her infant child having special needs, I' imagine that she has a support system in place while she works as governor that can carry over to Massachusetts Avenue (up the street from the old Iranian Embassy) if need be. Chances are her husband wille be there full-time. As long as it doesn't have a negative impact on her fulfillment of responsibilities, it's not any of our business. That of course, remains to be seen.

TheMrs

However, the difference is

by TheMrs on

However, the difference is that the Clinton's had only one child.
For 2 career minded people, that is more reasonable.

PC: Who gets to decide? Is it onluy voters?

Basseh Digeh. Stop it. Please....please. It is obvious who decides. Rational adults decide.

There are 7 days to a week and 24 hours to a day. If you want to tell me that a woman with 4 kids, one kid at 4 months with down syndrome, another unwed and pregnant at 17 can devote her time to a career as an executive or VP, I will have to tell you that her family suffers. This is mathematical. And no amount of feminist BS is going to change it. Now if you want to have a VP who is that careless with a 4 month old child with a disability, be my guest.

The first rule of family values is family first. Not career or country or church first.

And as far as feminism goes, there is nothing in feminist ideology that states that a woman, in order to be successful, has to neglect her family. Har chizi vaghti dare. At 44, she could continue with her career. If she pops a baby, she should be a mother.

PC: And how can a young woman prove to a prospective employer that she does not intend to have more than 1 or 2 children? She can't. So therefore, she should be excluded from working. Correct?

Are you comparing a clerk to a VP?

PC: So you don't think the probably hundreds of women that Bill Clinton cheated with were affected?

Who cares? Are those people running for VP? Are they pretending they have family values that they clearly don't? Bill Clinton may have ruined lives, but those lives weren't seeking my vote. If they were, I would say I don't vote for sluts.

PC: We are talking about feminism and the rights of women to work.

I have a degree in women's studies. I'm sure you have your opinions. But feminist philosphy that stomps on the rights of a child is not "feminist" in my book. A woman can be a mother and succeed. But if one is ruining the other, she needs a time out to evaluate her priorities. All can be done in good time. This is even true for a man.

An average male with 6 kids working at Cisco will have a harder time to climb the ladder than one who is single or has 2 kids. If he is a workaholic, he can't claim that he REALLY cares for his family.

PC: I'm divorced with no kids, so you just improved my career prospects dramatically!

Be realistic...OF COURSE IT DID. If you were married with 3 kids, would you be able to devote as much time to your career? If yes, then you are in a very very very rare and non existent minority. Superman or Superwoman doesn't exist.

PC: Most of Palin's kids are adults

HUH? The youngest is 4 months old. have you ever held a 4 month old child with a disability? And the oldest is under the legal age and considered a child by law.

PC: Pelosi bragging about how many grand-children she had a few months ago?

UM go read about Pelosi. She doesn't have a 4 month old child with a disability. Does she? As far as I know, her children are independent.

This discussion can go on forever and we can agree to disagree. In my book, a child needs parents. Palin isn't a good one. Her preggie teen is an example. In my book she is neglecting her 4 month old child. Vote for her if you want. Apparently that's the American standard now.
