Anahid Hojjati

somehow I think

by Anahid Hojjati on

in his peak days, shahram might have appealed to iranian gays. not that anything is wrong with that.

Guys & Gals

by masoudA on

In every song there is a music writer, bunch of musicians (instrument players), a poet, and a singer.    Shahram Solati (or his sister) is a sole singer - with no ability to write music , or play any instruments, and no ability to write music or the lyrics.......

To be a sole singer one better be at the same level as a Paverotti or Hayedeh........

BTW - while we are on the subject of musical talent - here is a link for Aanahid and Suri - this is beyond Pink Floyd - trust me... and this is coming from a Pink Floyd Fan!!!

lol, everyone's a critic....

by Reality-Bites on

Gotta love the comments. :)

Just to add my own, I'm impressed that some of the performers are still able to get through a concert without falling over, considering the amount of the white stuff they consume!

Souri

Shohreh and Shahram

by Souri on

Both have a amazingly beautiful voice. They are among the very rare younger (at our time) singers who have studied music at the Music Academy of Tehran (Honarestan AAli mousighi).

Unfortunately, they have been used and misused by the music industry. Still, I enjoy listening to their songs. I can't stand watching their ada o osoul during a video, but if I don't look at them, then their song becomes very pleasant to my ear. Among Shahram songs,

Thanks Framarz for the song.

Never been a fan of Shahram Solati, but keep singing this song, since last night, specially when drinking. NOSH.

Dear masoudA,

by Anahid Hojjati on

I have never been a fan of Shahram Solati. However, I used to like his sister, Shohreh. I went to couple of her performances in 1990s. Unfortunately, her performances showed that she was not doing her best work then. But if you look at her early videos from 1970s, Shohreh had decent voice, nice songs and was good looking too. Shahrm never had any oomph (should i call it) in his singing. I enjoy Persian pop but I prefer singers like Moeen, Faramarz Assef, Omid, Shahram Solati has never been my cup of tea. However, I am not ready to call him bottom of talent pool. I think there are worse ones.

Dear Anahid

I would agree my post was stupid and isensetive if you agree Shahram Solati is at the bottom of all time talent pool.   For many it's keeping in touch.....

Iranians who are rude

by Anahid Hojjati on

some Iranians write political articles and act as if they care about future of Iran but when you read how they talk about people, you want to throw up and you tell yourself, these guys are total jerks, why did I ever think that they are any good?

bahmani

Ah the good old seventies

by bahmani on

Big hair, open shirts that expose yet more big hair, and big fat voluptuous women in badly dyed hair and spandex pants 2 sizes too tight!

Gotta love people and the depth of their delusions.

One look at the crowd and you can see they are in good company.

Reminds me of the cast of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"

I always Wondered

by masoudA on

What the crowd in a Shahram Solati concert looks like......now I know - and am not surprised.

Geriatric Concert!

Looks like a Barry Manilow concert for all the 70's Grannies!

Why anyone would pay money

by TheMrs on

Why anyone would pay money to sit down and watch these singers is beyond me. This is not a sit down concert, or a dance next to your seat in the theatre concert. This is bezan beraghs music. If the venue isn't bezan beraghs it's a waste of money.

And Iranian men really need to stay away from tweezing their eyebrows and botox. Kheily birikht mishan. Young or old, accept yourself the way you are, khoshtip yourself and let it be. Why do all the way? Some of them look like freaks. Sad rahmat be khanuma.

Peace out

Jahanshah Javid

oh sure it does

by Jahanshah Javid on

IRI has no problem with this? hah... :)

Let the Iranian people be free and they'll be playing music 24-7 in the streets. For now they are forced to contain and hide their love for life in the safety of their basements, in the privacy of their car, under the cover of the hejab...

IRI's music of misery has fewer fans than the cheesiest acts in LA.

پندارنیک

I dare say........

by پندارنیک on

........IRI has no substantial problem with this opposition............none, whatsoever....
