Dear Iran Parast

by Kambiz 123 (not verified) on

Thanks for your response regarding being the friends of Baha'i we need more people like you particularly in Iran to care and really see what is going on. I have several close relatives and friends that were executed by mullahs and believe me none of them were spy and none of them ever hurt a fly. All could have denied their faith and saved their lives but they didn’t (you can take my life but you can’t take my faith). I really appreciate all your support and 100% agree with you as saying we all should maintain a spirit of civility in our discussions

I really don’t want to drag this any more but, my point was that even if Curly is a Baha'i (she never said she is as far as I know) and does something that you don't like or approve of, you should not generalize and accuse all the Baha'is and bringing up NUR’s hateful comments about the Baha’is and saying maybe he had a point by attacking the Baha’is --like we deserve it. Nur said his hateful stuff and he got his answers and decided to leave. We let people judge for themselves. As far as I am concern he is welcome to come back anytime with his real name or anybody else’s name. To look at the glass half way full, the positive thing that I got from you comment to Curly was your high expectation from Bahai’s and I really appreciated.

Dear Kambiz 123

by IRAN PARAST on

You may not believe this, but I have a genuine affection for the Bahai People. They are indeed a persecuted minority in Iran.

Regarding my initial response to curly, I do accept the fact that it may have been rather harsh. Nevertheless, you probably haven't read some of her other comments, in some of Massoud's other blogs. They haven't been exactly very friendly either!

In any event, thank you for your comment. I do agree with you that we should maintain a spirit of civility in our discussions.

Best Of Luck :)

by Kambiz 123 (not verified) on

No this is not the picture of Grand Canyon in USA I believe if I am not mistaken this is the picture of Canyon in South Africa (Masoud please confirm). I have been there it is beautiful and I recommend everyone to visit South Africa if you are planning a vacation. Need at least 2 weeks to see all the places. See you all there for the world cup. Hope Iran would make it and hope Monkey wont show up if you know what I mean?

Regarding the subject - - Iran Parast please do not generalize you said to curly ("Shame on you for rumor-mongering. I can now see why he (NUR) was coming after you guys (Bahaies). Maybe, he had a point!!!")you are smarter than Gaave 100 man shir deh hasti and please give Curly a brake she means no harm she just try to be funny and I like most of her comments.

In the New Testament of the Bible, there is a saying attributed to Jesus which says: Before you take a speck out of someone else's eyes, take the log out of your own.

This is my answer to you. I am going to respect Massoud's request, and not engage you in any disrespectful way.

Go In Peace .....

Gods' Will,

by Seagull (not verified) on

Here is some of the Words of God to us the Bahais regarding His purpose,

29. O SON OF BOUNTY!

Out of the wastes of nothingness, with the clay of My command I made thee to appear, and have ordained for thy training every atom in existence and the essence of all created things. Thus, ere thou didst issue from thy mother's womb, I destined for thee two founts of gleaming milk, eyes to watch over thee, and hearts to love thee. Out of My loving-kindness, 'neath the shade of My mercy I nurtured thee, and guarded thee by the essence of My grace and favor. And My purpose in all this was that thou mightest attain My everlasting dominion and become worthy of My invisible bestowals...

(Baha'u'llah, The Persian Hidden Words)

P.S. Thank you Massod Agha, great subject

I honestly thought, that Bahais such as yourself, are decent people. If you remember, a couple of weeks back, while NUR was attacking you guys right and left, people such as myself, Massoud, and others were trying to expose him for who he was.

Shame on you for rumor-mongering. I can now see why he was coming after you guys. Maybe, he had a point!!!

God's Intention !

by Theosopher (not verified) on

God’s intention for creation could be interpreted within the framework of the “rational necessity for perfection”.

Perfection necessitates the realization of the ’highest degree’ of mental and physical pleasure !  Maximum pleasure could not be attained in the ‘immaterial’ state of existence alone, hence the necessity for the realization of the ‘physical’ arena of existence i.e. the Cosmos.

What unexpectedly occurred, however, ‘temporarily’ altered the realization of the original Existential intention of  creation!

There is an interesting discussion going on regarding the interpretation of God's Will, and how different religions interpret them. Since you are the 'ONLY editor' now, it would be very helpful if you screened some of these crank comments below, both in Farsi and English. It would be greatly appreciated. Tks

Tao Te Ching

by a buddhist (not verified) on

you have been discussing a lot about the abrahamic religions. Tao Te Ching, and the Confucius tradition have a lot to say about this also. The God in these tradition is not a personal God like the abrahamic religions. The God is an impersonal God.

You hit the nail on the head. We understand God as our environment and life allows for it. For example, the natives in Polynesia have one view of God, and at the same time, the Eskimos in Alaska have a completely different view of God. Briefly, whatever powers we don't understand, we call God; in the case of the Judeo-Christian Tradition, God and Evil. In its truest sense, God transcends Thought.

At the end of the day, knowing God's Perfect Will, is really a function of your Faith! There are certain things that we know for sure, and there are other things that we have to accept in Faith. Knowing the PERFECT WILL OF GOD, is one that we have to accept BY FAITH!!

Dear IRAN PARAST

by R2-D2 on

After reading your extensive description of interpreting God's Will, through different religions, my assessment is, that the more one looks at it, the more complex it gets.

In your comment, you have also indicated that God's Will may best be interpreted at an individual level, rather than a wholsesale religion-wide level. I believe that such an approach could potentially lead to chaos, however, if a group of people are enlightened enough, then that may not occur.

In the Buddhist tradition, there is an interesting observation that I would like to share with you. In a group meditation, the Master in the front, in order to begin the meditation service, picked up a Tulip, and showed it to the class. The whole class was confused, except for one student! He looked at the Master, indicationg with his eye motion, that he knew what the Master was conveying!

Afterwards, the Master was asked what that symbolism of picking up a Tulip meant. The student, who was standing next to the Master, said that to him it meant Life is all about BEING, Nothing More, Nothing Less. In a gesture of concurrence, the Master showed the same eye movement that the student had done previously!

Respectfully,

R2-D2

a question

by ahmad.bakh-24 (not verified) on

If there is no distinct God's will, then what are we supposed to do? I mean, if there are several God's wills, by diffent religions, then what does that tell us about God???!

IRAN PARAST

Religious Scholar

by IRAN PARAST on

There is some degree of commonality between the religions on what God's Will may or may not be. Nevertheless, there are distinct differences between different religions on how that should be fulfilled.

Let me illustrate this: In Christianity, God's Will is being manifested through the person of Jesus Christ. There is divinity attached to that. However, in the Muslim religion, although Jesus is considered as a Great Prophet, nevertheless, there's no divinity attached to it.

Having said that, also, in a religion like The Bahai Faith, which believes in Progressive Revelation, it essentially accepts prior Revelations such as those brought forth by Mohammad, Jesus, Moses, Etc. However, there are many, such as the Muslims, etc., who do not believe that Bahaullah was a Prophet in the first place.

All in all, interpreting God's Will, is a tricky thing from one religion to another. It is perhaps best left to individual interpretation, rather than a wholesale interpretation, as it is usually done!

Thank you for bringing up this subject .... There are many of us who struggle with the same subject

P.S. Please don't pay attention to silly remarks like the one below ... It comes from the same ignorants that left simialr remarks in your other blogs :)- Mashang Shenas, Shaermoshaer, etc.
