It is great to hear he's from Ahvaz

by John Carpenter III (not verified) on

Ahvaz is a city in the Khuzestan Province in Iran. The Khuzistan province was attacked by Saddam during the Iran-Iraq war. We can not forget that Saddam, who was executed after a fair trial was good friends with Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The Shah and Saddam signed a truce that was detrimental to Iranian kurds. The Shah also o.k.'ed the independance of Bahrain. Before that time Iran had legal rights to Bahrain. It is great to read that an Iranian basketball player from Khuzestan has joined the NBA. He will not be forgotton.

Iranican Reports: Iranian Basketball Team

by iranicanlive on

Check out our report on Hamed Haddadi and the other players in the Iranian Olympic Basketball Team:

//www.iranican.com/blog/?p=139

It was awesome seeing them play in Utah.

One interesting fact: did you know the Iranian Basketball Team was brought to the US through the work of the State Department, aka Condoleezza Rice? We thought that was very interesting.

by Soccer Fan (not verified) on
