"Bird of Dawn" is more than a hundred years old, dating back to the Constitutional Revolution of 1906. Its message still rings true:

by Ari Siletz on Wed Feb 10, 2010 02:35 PM PSTپرینسس یک مفهوم شیر آب را قبلا توضیح داده است.

Fabulous rendition!

by Benyamin on Tue Feb 09, 2010 06:08 PM PSTI really enjoyed it. This presentation suits more today`s revolution than the old form, the lyrics are still relevant. But I must say Shajarian has done a fantastic job with this poem.
Thank you

It is well documented
by Ali P. on Tue Feb 09, 2010 05:10 PM PSTThe "Farmaaneh mashrooteeyat" was handwritten by Ghavaam-ol-saltaneh, a clerk at the time, and the future prime minister of Iran, and the (arguably) rescuer of Azerbaijan.

Oh! I think you are talking about "Morgh Sahar". That is Farman Mashrooteh. I don't know who's hand-writing it is (I bet a couple of people here know... Darius?), but I bet he had a lot of fun writing it!
It's a software... is that

No Photo Reminder of Shapour Bakhtiar ?
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Feb 09, 2010 04:01 PM PSTNice Clip and powerful images.
But it Would certainly be enhanced also and Benefit from a Reminder of Shapour Bakhtiar Also Don't you think ?
After all he gave his life for his belief in the Constitution of 1906

by abc123 on Tue Feb 09, 2010 03:30 PM PSTI like this, but listen to this:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye6d4zXdtUc
it puts fire in audience. He has the strongest voice. The song itself was a beautiful song since ever. Shajarian voice penetrates all body cells and put it in fire!
This song reminds me the days that I as a young student would sing in Mountains with my friends of Mountain Club @ Aryamehr University in Tehran. Many of those friends who were executed by Islamic regime in 80s like Mojtaba Ahmadzadeh, Khalil Bolourian, Mohammad Mohammadi, Edna Sabet, Mohammad Yazdanian, Abbas Pakiman, Mehdi Hosseini, and many others....

Mamnoon az hamegi!
by AhmadK on Tue Feb 09, 2010 01:10 PM PSTThank you all for the kind words. All credit on this goes to Arash and Mohsen (and of course, Maleko'shoara Bahar and Shajarian! :) ). It's always dangerous to touch such a great (and historical) piece, as you can be sure you will upset some people. It needs a lot of guts to do that. Congratulations to Arash and Mohsen for it. The video was a "quick fix", just to help the distribution of the song before 22 Bahman.

by yolanda on Tue Feb 09, 2010 12:41 PM PSTHere is the English translation of the Farsi lyrics for Morgh'e Sahar:
//hshajarian.wordpress.com/2008/01/26/morning-bird-morgh-e-sahar/
O Morning bird, sadly sing and remind me
Of my pain afresh with a burning sigh
Break this cage and turn it upside down
Wing tied nightingale, leave the corner of this cage
Compose the song of freedom for the mankind
And with a breath, set fire to the battlefield
Of the mass of this earth
The cruelty of tyrants and the injustice of huntsmen
Have broken my nest to the winds
O God, O turning globe, O nature
Turn our dark night into dawn…
Constitutional Revolution
by Princess on Tue Feb 09, 2010 12:14 PM PSTYes, the video definitely adds a lot to this timeless classic. I love the "ghatr e ghatr e jam gardad vangahi darya shavad," with the big mowj at the end!
Last week I heard an expert say that this movement has a lot more in common with the Constitutional Revolution than with the "Taghallob e '57".
Just fabulous!
by Aref-Adib on Tue Feb 09, 2010 12:01 PM PSTWell done Ahmad K!
Fresh take
by KayvanAli on Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:58 AM PSTI loved the fresh take on this classic tune. There's the original version, then Shajarian, then Farhad's interpretation and now this modern look by Arash, Namjoo and Ahmad, with a nod to the past...The video adds a new dimension: Mashrooteh...Mossadegh...Water dripping lightly, then puring and finally, overflow. I recommend seeing it "at least" 3 times per person :->
