بس که صدای هواکش کافه بلند بود هیچ کس صدای خودش را نمیشنید. درست ده دقیقهای میشد که داشتم برایش حرف میزدم. از دست کارهایش کلافه بودم و نمیدانستم در سرش چه میگذرد. رو به رویم نشسته بود و چیزی نمیگفت. خیلی خونسرد سرش را پایین انداخته بود و فیلتر پیپش را عوض میکرد. انگار نه انگار که بیست و پنج سال است با هم رفیقیم و تمام این مدت نزدیکترین دوستش بودم و حالا نگرانش هستم>>>

Given the disastrous consequences of neoconservative foreign policy ideas regarding Iraq and other Middle Eastern issues in recent years, those ideas and the people who framed them should have been discredited and should now be marginalized -- meaning, not taken seriously -- in future policy debates. But that is clearly not the case. وظیفه ملی همه ایرانیان است که بحث سالم سازی فرهنگ سیاسی ایران را به یک جنبش ملی برای ساختن یک ایران توسعه یافته و دمکراتیک تبدیل کنند و از این راه به مرحوم مصدق و همه انهائی که برای ترقی این مرز و بوم زحمت کشیده اند و جان داده اند یک خدمت تاریخی و ماندگار بکنند. آنچه یک مصدق مرحوم شده میخواهد دفاع از خود نیست بلکه پیشرفت برای ایران است. این را هم اضافه کنم که این جنبش باید در ذات و عمق خود دمکراتیک باشد. یعنی حرکت ما برای ساختن یک فرهنگ سیاسی پیشرو باید به حذف کسی نیانجامد>>>

Although Iran is not found on current lists of countries with high divorce rates, it seems the country may possibly have the highest divorce rate in the world today. A study released by a research group at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran earlier this month reports that the divorce rate in Iran could be as high as 90% among couples who marry by choice as opposed to more traditional arranged marriages. The split between traditional arranged marriages and more modern “love” marriages is larger than you might think>>>

شخص اول (رئیس جلسه): پیش از آنکه گفتگوی امروز را آغاز کنیم، به جمع بندی در مورد بحث هفته قبل می پردازیم. در نشست هفته گذشته در مورد آزادی اینگونه استنباط کردیم که این مقوله دارای دو جنبه است و مانند سکه دو رو دارد: یکی آزادی درونی و دیگری آزادی برونی. و نتیجتاً به اینجا رسیدیم که آزادی برونی، بدون آزادی درونی امکانپذیر نیست. شخص دوم: منظورتان این است که در جوامع دموکراتیک، افراد همه به آزادی درونی رسیده اند؟

People are generally tolerant and welcoming. Shopkeepers invite shoppers to their own shop; some overenthusiastic invitation, however, can feel slightly tense and intimidating, particularly in narrow streets with shops on both sides. It tends to be harmless and easily ends by firmly rejecting the invitation and walking away. Haggle is part of the shopping experience in most places.
