Ask yourself the following questions;
What would it be like if there were no arms industry in the world?
What all these arms do for us?
How much all nations spend every year on arms?
How many lives would be saved if there were not so much weapons made?
Where science and technology would be today if all this money was not spend on weapons?
What are the environmental effects of manufacturing military weapons?
What are the environmental effects of using all these arms?
What are the environmental effects of scrapping all these weapons?
What all these weapons of mass distruction do to every thing we humans stand for compared to animals?
Would there be dictatorial governments if there was not so much weapons made? Would there, for example, be people like ahmadinejad if there was not armies like there is today? Could voting be more honest? Would Iran be a better place?
Does having more weapons create peace? Does it? Is there peace in places like middle east for western nations for example? Have you heard of Heroshima. for example? Did it help US to stop all the world troubles for good? Trouble in far east is still going on.

So what all these weapons do for human being? Does it make us more human?
CAN WE LIVE IN A PLANET WITH NO ARMIES AND NO WEAPONS?
Would such a time ever come?
CIVILIZATION is NOT having more weapons.

Not as long as there are barbarians and savages in the world.
AmirKabear,
by Q on Mon Aug 10, 2009 03:13 PM PDTI admire the idealism. Of course you are correct. The problem is money and power.
Weapons, just like Drugs and Oil are such lucrative business that they buy their own "justice" and "laws." It's almost impossible to move away toward a peaceful world.
Let's hope we can get there someday.
