Once I was walking in Charbagh and saw an Iraqi's airplane was shot and smoke was coming out of it. A few months later, there was a rumor that the person who shot the plane was jailed.

The IR has "rewarded" many heroes, even some of its own dearest, with executions.  I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not, but Moahmmad Jahan Ara's family was the recipient of such "honor" bestowed upon them by the IR.  As I'm sure you know, Mohammad Jahan Ara was the famous Iran / Iraq IRGC war hero whose died when a plane that he was in mysteriously crashed.  He is much taled about by the IR, and in fact, the "mammadi naboodi bebini" song was composed for him.  A little less known fact is that his brother, Hassn Jahan Ara was executed at the Evin prison for being an opposition member.  In fact, I think he was executed pretty close to Mohamma's own death.  The execution of his brother also makes his own plane crash more suspicious.

Heroes never die and always will be remembered to their service to their motherland and it is not important where he lives he is Iranian hero and always will be Iranian and always will be admired by his own college and nation and I wish him long life to continue his great service for his nation and country, such a men should be admired and cherished for their heroism.Long live Iran and freedom and democracy for our nation and country.As per  D.K    JAVID SHAH.

You claim that Sharfi Rad is a distant relative. Usually when there  is a news article or blog reporting torture or execution in Iran you compare it to what the US is doing in Guantanamo or draw parallels beween execution in the IR and the States.

You can't bring youself to defend the IR for torturing an Iranian national hero but nor will you permit yourself to slander the 'good name' of the IR.

There was so much deceit and treachery going on during the course of the Iran-Iraq war and these brave pilots suffered a lot as a result. As we know, the international community despised both Saddam and Khomeini and his gang and wanted both sides’ military completely depleted, so they provided information to both sides.

In one particular instance, the US provided the regime through Bani Sadr and others, critical information about a military base and Iraqi troops’ formation and encouraged a strike. In the early morning hours, as the Iranian jets came from behind the mountains and dove into the low altitude for a bombing run, to their complete surprise, they were met by the Iraqi anti-aircraft fire. Their plans had been given to Saddam and the Iraqis were waiting for them. Those who could eject in time were taken prisoner and were eventually swapped after enduring harsh treatment in the hands of their jailors.

This was all happening while the pilots’ families were also mistreated in the hands of the Regime in Iran.

Thank you all for your kindness

and honoring of this great man, one of many more like himself (some less fortunate).  Iran exists today because of people like him.

And NO thanks to Colonel Sanders.  It is not Rad, it is Sharifirad, so you do not even know how to properly say his name.  If you are indeed related to this hero, it just demonstrates your betrayal more, as you consistently side with and justify those who imprisoned, tortured him, and destroyed his life (something the Iraqis tried and failed to do).  

Saddam Hussein and the isamic republic are two in the long long line of enemies of Iran, and Captain Sharifirad is one in the long long line of valiant selfless Iranians who outshined and outlasted all of these parasitic enemies of our country.

The islamist regime has a habit of killing it's best military commanders for political reasons. Captain Bahram Afzali, the very competent chief of Iranian Navy during Iran Iraq War is one.
