Earlier this Persian year, the pro regime and pro supreme leader jester Amir Ameli published a poor excuse for a poem attacking the great Iranian master Mohammad Reza Shajarian, and called it "Shajarian Zard Ast" (Shajarian is yellow):

This pathetic loser gives himself the right to take such cheap shots at one of the living legends of Iranian music in our time. This is equivalent to a government agent writer in Italy attacking Andrea Bocelli. This illustrates the depths of desperation and lack of country of this stateless terrorist gang.
Master Shajarian came back with a truly beautiful response, squarely identifying himself with the "dirt and dust" proclaimed by the anti Iranian regime. I believe the master's was way too gracious for this Islamist fundamentalist thug:

My apologies for not translating to English, I just don't see a way to carry over his beautiful dance with words into another language with any justice whatsoever to the original work. If there is an Edward Fitzgerald out there, please help us out here.
All I could say is bah bah Ostad, zeeba goftee! As I shook my head in awe.
Once again, the mullahs in Iran stand against culture and art in Iran as they have for centuries. The last thing they want is a culture that they cannot control and have a monopoly on, yet they know that Iranian culture is too great for them to contain, let alone suppress and control. Thank you dear Master Shajarian, for not letting your beautiful voice and art be silenced. Indeed the pen and the voice are mightier than the sword. No worthless bisavad mullah nor their cronies, whether inside or outside of Iran will ever be able to silence your voice and your art. History will remember you for your greatness and contribution to Iranian culture, but will remember these thugs and their wannabe "poets" as the garbage of our country. Just watch as the pro regime and pro Islamic republic cronies right here on this website either support such cheap shots, or just shut up about this if they know are minimally smart. Either way they lose big time. Just like today, every Iranian knows the great Hafez, but nobody really knows or cares to know about his pathetic nemesis, Shah Shoja.

Fair (not Fred): These attacks on ostaad were bound to happen
by MM on Mon Jan 10, 2011 01:48 PM PSTThese attacks on ostaad were bound to happen, especially after Shajarian's last two interviews with the BBC, the Australian TV as well as his angered song regarding the protests. But, as the interviewers suggested, Shajarian is well beyond the festering cesspool of IRI. While ostaad's music / name with live forever in Iran, IRI will not.

by yolanda on Sun Jan 09, 2011 04:04 PM PSTI hope Shajarian makes his beautiful poem into a song!
I can never forget this song that rallied Iranian people.....I can see people yearning for freedom......they loved the hidden message in the lyrics!

There are Edward Fitzgeralds on IC........I am saying a prayer.....hopefully they read this blog and take actions! .......hopefully the jester's poem got translated too as a negative example!
Long Live Iran, Iranians, and Iranian culture!
