It is easy to lose heart with the massive crackdown which has taken place on Iranian people over the past couple of months. On the surface, IRI authorities seem to be getting bolder and more ruthless in arresting people and canceling any and all public events which might give Iranians a chance to come to the streets again to protest an illegitimate government. IRGC (Sepaah), police, and Basij commanders are giving daily interviews, threatening people and sounding smug in their new “military state” hold over Iran and Iranians. In my humble opinion, this all is the anticipated behavior of a group of tyrants who are running scared from the people’s wrath on them, taking their last breaths before their total collapse. Take this latest piece of news, released today:
"Iran police warn opposition before Quds Day
(AFP) TEHRAN — Iran's police chief warned the opposition on Tuesday against using an annual pro-Palestinian march to stage protests against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the official IRNA news agency reported."The Quds Day (march), which is to express support for oppressed Palestinians and condemn occupiers, should not be tainted for political purposes," Esmail Ahmadi Moghadam said."Derailing Quds Day would be added to the fraud folder for showing the true colours of those who direct this view," he said in apparent warning to leaders of the opposition, who charge that Ahmadinejad's June re-election was rigged.According to their websites, supporters of defeated candidates known as the greens plan to pour on to Tehran's streets again in the annual state-sponsored Quds Day demonstration, which will be held this year on September 18.
Opposition leader and defeated candidate Mehdi Karroubi vowed that his supporters will come out in force on the day, and Ahmadinejad's main rival Mir Hossein Mousavi has also called for continued civil disobedience."
This cracked me up! What utter nonsense from an illiterate man! Quds Day is quite possibly the most political annual event in Iran! Take a look at Wikipedia’s definition of Quds Day:
"International Day of Al-Quds (Rooz-e jahaany-e Qods in Persian: روز جهانی قدس), is an annual event opposing Israel's control of Jerusalem, (Al-Quds in Arabic: القـُدْس). Anti-Zionist demonstrations are held on this day in some Muslim and Arab countries and by Muslim and Arab communities around the world, but especially in Iran where the occasion was first suggested. It is held each year on the last Friday of Ramadan. Jerusalem Day is not an Islamic religious holiday but a political event open to both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, and thus observance is not obligatory in Islam."
This idiot’s assertion that Quds Day must not be “tainted for political purposes” is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time! Give me a break! What about the Quds day is NOT political? Islamic Republic of Iran has made it its sole business to protest Israel’s occupation of Quds. Normally on this day Iranians are led in chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.” This year Iranians are going to come to streets to protest not Israel’s occupation of Palestine, but occupation of Iran by the illegitimate and unwanted Islamic Republic of Iran. Who wants to bet that people will be chanting “Death to Dictator,” and “Death to Khamenei” instead?!
Gentlemen, for 30 years you made your bed, now kindly scoot over and lie in it while people of Iranian take care of business!

I do care less about mullahs but I think that we Iranians have to keep our unity against this cruel regime specially at this critical moment. I would suggest you to write a blog about what you feel right and if it does make sense to me I'll support you.

LYNCHING : (to Mardome Mazloom, Natalia)
by kharmagas on Sun Sep 13, 2009 09:05 AM PDTTo elliminate your confusion,
I am neither a Muslim nor do I care about mollas in either side. That includes Khamenei as well as the corrupt mollas in the green side such as Rafsanjani, the father of corruption in Iran under IRI.
.... having said all that, when it comes to patriotism in either side, I stand with them. .....
As for majority of exchanges that I have had here, ...., they have nothing to do with politics, in my first post here I OBJECTED TO LYNCHING ..... I have objected to LYNCHING regardless of the political orientation of the LYNCHED person, this time and before.
They may continue.......

IRIs anti Semitic propaganda has failed!
by Farhad Kashani on Thu Sep 10, 2009 04:03 PM PDTIRIs pathetic and blind anti Semitic stance for the last 30 years, which has devastated our country and our people, has only resulted in the creation of Islamic fundamentalism terrorism ideology subscribed by groups like Al Qaeda and Taliban. This anti Israeli stance was done with no benefit to the Iranian people, rather it’s a pure propaganda tool for IRI to recruit Islamist groups and individual to act as its muscles in the Middle East.
Also, IRIs anti Israeli propaganda is not a sign of “righteousness”, the only thing it represents is its desperation and lack of legitimacy and credibility, because if you are a democratic humane government, you don’t have to engage in this anti Israeli or any other kind of extreme behavior or propaganda madness (regardless of how good or bad Israel or others are) to legitimize yourself among your supporters and the people you rule. Only low confidence paranoid and illegitimate regimes, which IRI is the best example of, bash others in order for themselves to look righteous because Khomeini and Khamenei know very very very very well, the vast majority of Iranians are counting the mini seconds for this regime, and its supporters, to go the hell. So they have to blame others and make others look bad in order to gain legitimacy. IRi is only digging itself a bigger hole and nothing else by increasing its anti Israeli rhetoric. Israel’s wrong actions are one thing, IRIs anti Semitic propaganda and rhetoric is absolutely another.
I see...

by kharmagas on Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:01 AM PDTKhale Mosheh,
When Kadivar was being lynched and I stood up for him, it was not because I was a monarchist, or I was Kadivar!
When Zion was lynched and I stood up for her, it wasn't because I was a Zionist, or I was Zion!
BTW, my command of English may be better than yours, but it is not remotely as good as Jaleh's.
