Forget Israel and Palestine, Quds Day here we come!

It is easy to lose heart with the massive crackdown which has taken place on Iranian people over the past couple of months.  On the surface, IRI authorities seem to be getting bolder and more ruthless in arresting people and canceling any and all public events which might give Iranians a chance to come to the streets again to protest an illegitimate government.  IRGC (Sepaah), police, and Basij commanders are giving daily interviews, threatening people and sounding smug in their new “military state” hold over Iran and Iranians.  In my humble opinion, this all is the anticipated behavior of a group of tyrants who are running scared from the people’s wrath on them, taking their last breaths before their total collapse.  Take this latest piece of news, released today:

"Iran police warn opposition before Quds Day

(AFP) TEHRAN — Iran's police chief warned the opposition on Tuesday against using an annual pro-Palestinian march to stage protests against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the official IRNA news agency reported."The Quds Day (march), which is to express support for oppressed Palestinians and condemn occupiers, should not be tainted for political purposes," Esmail Ahmadi Moghadam said."Derailing Quds Day would be added to the fraud folder for showing the true colours of those who direct this view," he said in apparent warning to leaders of the opposition, who charge that Ahmadinejad's June re-election was rigged.According to their websites, supporters of defeated candidates known as the greens plan to pour on to Tehran's streets again in the annual state-sponsored Quds Day demonstration, which will be held this year on September 18.

Opposition leader and defeated candidate Mehdi Karroubi vowed that his supporters will come out in force on the day, and Ahmadinejad's main rival Mir Hossein Mousavi has also called for continued civil disobedience."

This cracked me up!  What utter nonsense from an illiterate man!  Quds Day is quite possibly the most political annual event in Iran!  Take a look at Wikipedia’s definition of Quds Day:

"International Day of Al-Quds (Rooz-e jahaany-e Qods in Persian: روز جهانی قدس), is an annual event opposing Israel's control of Jerusalem, (Al-Quds in Arabic: القـُدْس). Anti-Zionist demonstrations are held on this day in some Muslim and Arab countries and by Muslim and Arab communities around the world, but especially in Iran where the occasion was first suggested. It is held each year on the last Friday of Ramadan. Jerusalem Day is not an Islamic religious holiday but a political event open to both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, and thus observance is not obligatory in Islam."

This idiot’s assertion that Quds Day must not be “tainted for political purposes” is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time!  Give me a break!  What about the Quds day is NOT political?  Islamic Republic of Iran has made it its sole business to protest Israel’s occupation of Quds.  Normally on this day Iranians are led in chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”  This year Iranians are going to come to streets to protest not Israel’s occupation of Palestine, but occupation of Iran by the illegitimate and unwanted Islamic Republic of Iran.  Who wants to bet that people will be chanting “Death to Dictator,” and “Death to Khamenei” instead?! 

Gentlemen, for 30 years you made your bed, now kindly scoot over and lie in it while people of Iranian take care of business!

فراخوان هاشمی رفسنجانی برای شرکت مردم در روز جهانی قدس
شبکه جنبش راه سبز (جرس): آیت الله هاشمی رفسنجانی مسلمانان ایران و جهان را به شرکت درراهپیمایی روز قدس فراخواند.
رئیس مجمع تشخیص مصلحت نظام در بیانیه ای به مناسبت روز قدس با بیان اینکه «فجر صادق همیشه بعد از تیره ترین زمان شب طلوع می کند» ، نسبت به غفلت مسلمانان کشورهای اسلامی نسبت به روز قدس هشدار دادو مردم ایران و کشورهای اسلامی و غیر اسلامی را به شرکت در راهپیمایی این روز فراخوند.
متن بیانیه آیت الله هاشمی رفسنجانی به این شرح است :
و نريد ان نمن علي الذين استضعفوا في الارض و نجعلهم ائمه و نجعلهم الوارثين
سی سال است که آزاداندیشان و عدالتخواهان درست کردار در سراسر جهان به ابتکار اعجازآمیز امام راحل جمعه آخر ماه مبارک رمضان در محکومیت اشغالگری قدس شریف که نمادی از مظلومیت و اسارت در دست یک دولت سراسر نامشروع، جعلی و غاصب می باشد به خیابانها می آیند و برائت خویش را از جنایات و تمامیت خواهی های بین المللی یک اقلیت محدود، فریاد می زنند و شاهدیم که این حضور معنادار هر ساله چون زلزله ای پایدار، پایه های عنکبوتی استبداد و استعمار را می لرزاند و روح مقاومت را بر تن مجروح این بقعه شریف اسلامی می دمد.
مردم مسلمان ایران اسلامی واقصی نقاط جهان اسلام !
امسال در حالی به استقبال این روز شریف می رویم که سردمداران جهانی با سواستفاده از غفلت و تفرقه مسلمانان و بخصوص اختلافات در داخل مجاهدان خود فلسطینی دندان طمع را برای تعمیق جنایات خویش ، تیز کرده اند و با القای تفرقه و دامن زدن به اختلافات مذهبی و پرهیز از بیان اشتراکات، مطامع استکباری و استعماری خویش را در آستانه تحقق، نامشروع می بینند.
نکند خدایی نکرده تدبیر پیر فرزانه این انقلاب را که روز قدس را روز بیداری اسلام نامید، در اثر این اختلافات به فراموشی سپرده شود و آب در آسیاب دشمن بریزد که سالهای سال در آرزوی حذف هویت اصیل اسلامی بیت المقدس به عنوان قبله اول مسلمین است.
انشاءالله حضور غیورانه شما در راهپیمایی روز قدس در سراسر کشور های اسلامی و غیر اسلامی و در روستاها و شهرهای ایران عزیز، بیدار بیدارباشی جاودانه به غفلت زدگان باشد که فکر می کنند گذشت زمان، غبار فراموشی بر آرمان فلسطین نشانده است و شما نیز مطمئن باشید که فجر صادق همیشه بعد از تیره ترین زمان شب طلوع می نماید.

I have been bloging here a long time ... there are quite a few people whom I respect  Dr. Sahimi, and Q .... both of whom are green are at the top of the list .... you on the other hand I have no respect for ... I don't give a hoot to your suggestion or your call for "UNITY" .... you  can go to ..... as far as I am concerned.
When you were in your dippers I supported some of the progressive greens who are in jail now.
