A title says it all. All critical comments are welcome.
This is probably Michael's last documentary, as he once said. Even if that be, Michael Moore's existing works puts him a head and a shoulder above all in his generation.

Michael moore needs to say more.....
by Siavash300 on Sun May 08, 2011 12:55 PM PDT" Greed is good. greed in all it's aspects, greed for love, greet for knowlege, greed for education, greed for money... . ... Greed works. it is the essence of Capitalism .It is the foundation of big organization that we call it United State of America" Michael Douglas speech in movie by the name of Wall street.
Michael Moore became famous for his movie F. 9/11 that was meant to bash republican or rahter George W.Bush administration. It also attracted some of left wing media such as N.P.R. He went on and on about the names of Saudi's families who were fled the country right after 9/11 by help of Bush administration. He failed to explain for his audiances the dangerous situation these families were facing after that terrorist attack by leading figure such as Mohammad Atta, and his Saudi born comrades. In his 2nd famous movie "Sicko" his vision about Capitalism is very limited to "health care", something that H. Clinton had been working on that for quiet some time. The movie shows that he couldn't get into Cuba because of rectriction imposed from Cuban government (Seems they are still in stage of dictatorship of proletaria LoL) and he just interview some doctors about health care in Cuba. Capitalism is not only health care. In fact, Canada is capitalism society and has execellent health care system or U.K or Sweden. The most important aspect of Capitalism is freedom of enterprises that allow creativity of each individual growth. Working hard and make the Great American dream comes true. In former allies of Soviet Union countries such as Hungeria, Yoguslavia, etc. one person was working and 10 other people were watching. Why bother? Gov. check would have come at the end of each months. Moore needs to say more about Cubans who were swimming to come across the ocean to take a refuge in America. Poverty is relentless in Cuba. People live worse than current situation in Iran. Socialism failed big time in Cuba. First Castro closed all those tourism and vacation resorts in Havana right after he took power in early 60's . Americans used to go there and spent money. That cut the big source of income ravenue for Cubans. Moore doesn't say anything about those disaster and deadly diseases who is threating lives of thousand poor Cubans. The movie doesn't even show the degree of poverty in Cuba. He needs to say more.
Sincerely,
Siavash

And I don't mean to be rude, mean or anything like that BUT, and I don't want to be too colorful either, for lack of a better term, THE SCUMBAGS you support 24/7 in here, make Western Capitalist thieves look like Boy Scouts. In your paymasters' House of Terror, aka Islamic Republic we have instances such as:
Babak Shahr: where workers were shot down by Special Anti-Riot Police, just for asking for a regular work schedule, and an end to Temporary Work Contracts.
Flogging of workers just for participating in May 1st celebration.
The list above could be much, much longer, but I'm getting old, and a bit tired. I'm sure you catch my drift.
Respect yourself, and stop reminding us of an amature savaki who found his trade late in life, and very unconvincing, boring, and repulsive at his job: AS A FULL TIME APOLOGIST FOR THE BIGGEST SCUMBAGS IN HUMAN HISTORY AND HISTORY OF CAPITALISM: ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN.
Thanks

Wow
by hirre on Fri May 06, 2011 12:31 AM PDTUnfortunately many of you americans have been brainwashed by your governments & media. There is really a big difference between socialism and communism... Many countries in even west europe have its core foundations based on socialistic values and are run (have been run) by social democrats for many years. At the same time they have people from those countries in Forbes list....
The main social democratic idea in modern time is that certain things in a society should be free: education, health care and so on... And as I recall it during recent years even America is turning towards social democratic values... The same people that are yelling for capitalism and "market liberty" want (in practice) to strip common people of their opportunities of becoming educated and competitive for the same jobs & health systems...
Presence of Illusions
by Mash Ghasem on Thu May 05, 2011 11:24 PM PDTSia 300, if you had at least bothered to see some of Michael's movies you wouldn't be so quick to make such uninformed comments about him or his ideas. Do see his movie on Health Care, and let us know how you feel about Health Care for all.
All these utterly non-sensical equations of democracy and 'free enterprise, is a bankrupt mantra of Neoliberal ideology.
Is pumping billions of dollares into bankrupt banks your idea of "Free Enterprise?" Most people correctly call it for what it is: Corporate Socialism. How come when there's a profit, it's only for the rich: but when there's bankruptcy, working people have to pay for the bail out.
Ain't that rich! cheers
Future of an illusion
by Siavash300 on Thu May 05, 2011 10:11 PM PDTNone of those who believe in leftist ideology including Mr. Moore are willing to live in socialist countries. In abstruct discussion, many express their side with people like M.Moore, but when it comes to reality we see none of these are willing to lose their residency in free countries and go and live in socialist societies. Cubans are running away each day from Fiedle's hell by swimming from that country to U.S. They are taking refuge in Florida. Former K.G.B agents established Russian Mafia and export prostitutes to countries around Persian Gulf and Turkey. "Nathash" is common name for prostitutes from Russia and "Fatima" is common title for prostitutes from Islamic countries such as Iran. History is on the side of Democracy and free enterprises.

by Mash Ghasem on Thu May 05, 2011 12:48 PM PDTKhanom, tis blog is not as formal as others in here, what do they call it? Free-flow, or something like that. But you're right, some 'protocole' shall be maintained, my bad.
And Ginger Tea for all on the house. As a response to all your apt comments, me just read this essay on the US Labor Movement, and me thought it was pretty niffty, cheers
//www.solidarity-us.org/current/node/3266?utm...
A growing labor movement can drown the sound of the right, but growth
will not be orderly or commanded from some center. The events in
Wisconsin did not reach the point of a mass strike movement.
Nevertheless, once again the words of Rosa Luxemburg concerning the
fears of union officials that their organizations will “fall in pieces
in a revolutionary whirlwind like rare porcelain” remind us that, on the
contrary, “from the whirlwind and the storm, out of the fire and glow
of the mass strike and the street fighting rise again, like Venus from
the foam, fresh, young, powerful, buoyant trade unions.”

Dream for some, Nightmare for others
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Tue May 03, 2011 09:25 PM PDTIt very much depends on where you sit really does it not? in the boardroom or down the factory floor/office/or out in freezing cold, soaring heat buliding a road , house....
One does have to be a "bolshi" to see this entire dream is turning into a heck of a nightmare for most of ordinary folks....
Thanks MG for the post.

by Soosan Khanoom on Tue May 03, 2011 08:33 PM PDTThanks MG for reminding us of this great documentary ... I am a big fan of Moore .
The entire documentary can be watched in the following link:
"What is the price that America pays for its love of capitalism? Years ago, that love seemed so innocent.
Today, however, the American dream is looking more like a nightmare as families pay the price with their jobs, their homes and their savings. Moore takes us into the homes of ordinary people whose lives have been turned upside down; and he goes looking for explanations in Washington, DC and elsewhere.
What he finds are the all-too-familiar symptoms of a love affair gone astray: lies, abuse, betrayal… and 14,000 jobs being lost every day"
