"Rosie the Riveter" is iconic representation of American women who worked in manufacturing plants during World War II to help with the fight against fascism in Europe.
I've seen a cartoon of an Iranian woman in a black veil with the same pose, but I can not find it now otherwise I would've provided a link to it (update: here is a picture of a placard used in the San Francisco rally, but still I think there is another cartoon of the same pose somewhere).
When I was in the Saturday's Mega Rally in San Francisco I saw a photo journalist, Nazy Kaviani, taking a picture of a woman with a green band around her arm. I put two and two together and here is my version of Iranian "Roshan the Riveter", !روشن پرچ کُن.

Anahid Hojjati, I believe you’re talking about the lady with the green umbrella. Yes, she was very active.
Maryam Hojjat, You’re also very nice yourself with your comments.
Anonymouse, I still don’t know what’s going on with you and your avatar of Daruis Kadivar, and on top of that now I have to figure out Vandalay Industry. I must have missed whatever went on with that discussion, but don’t worry I’ll figure it out soon.
Rosie is Roxy is Roshan, You belong to us and don’t you forget it.

by Omid Hast on Tue Jul 28, 2009 07:19 AM PDTWhy are you using Darius Kadivar's picture as your avatar?
(For the record, since avatars are easily changable, I see a picture of Darius Kadivar being used by Anonymouse as his avatar.)
I like it. Very
by Anonymouse on Tue Jul 28, 2009 05:51 AM PDTI like it. Very nice. Color coordinated too. My only suggestion is to have one with English version that says "Yes we can!"
Everything is sacred.
