Mike Oldfield is perhaps better known for his Tubular Bells (aka the Exorcist sound track). But there was a time that I was hooked to Ommadawn and its mesmerising tunes.

Ebi and Yachov-e aziz
by Samavar on Mon Feb 16, 2009 02:39 AM PSTThank you for your memorable contributions. I remember the radio show by Saeed but can't recall its title. Perhaps on a lighter note you would enjoy to listen to a little oldie (like myself):

This one for me comes after them;though his father is the greatest. This music is nostalgic for me & many others, since it was the theme of a radio program, hosted by saeed Ghaemmaghaami in the mornings( before the revolution).
let's see if you remember the name of the program?!
BTW
The album is great .

Two of my favorites
by Yachov on Sun Feb 15, 2009 03:16 PM PSTI have always liked Oldfield's material. His music is hypnotic and tranquilizing. Even "Bells" was awesome. Rick Wakemen did a version of Tubular Bells then said, "Well there goes any chance of my knighthood." (Oldfield of course was involved in some YES projects.)
And Tangerine Dream, I was weened on those guys. I remember that I had gotten my Korg M3 (module version) and it had a unique sound that Tangerine Dream used that combined female voices, strings and heavy verb. It was such a sweet sound. Tangerine Dream was usually in a big hurry. LOL
Ebi jaan, great minds think alike :)
by Samavar on Sun Feb 15, 2009 03:13 PM PSTYou may not believe this but I was of double mind which one to post: Ommadawn or Richochet but you perfected it. How do you like this one:
