One day shall come that being a muslim is a crime and you have to deny even being one to avoid jail.

What I am posting here and blogging about may actually make many Islam haters on IC happy and ready to attack as usual. I do expect nothing from these death to Islam crowd of IC. I should say do not even bother !!

I only ask those who cares , muslim or non muslim , religious or non religious ones to be a voice for the voiceless. Let it be written that at this time of the history the target is no longer Jews or Communists but it is " ISLAM "

New McCarthy-like Congressional hearings beginning this Thursday about Muslims in America

Congress To Hold Hearings On Muslim Threat

Things may get worse, Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Chair of the Homeland Security Committee of the House of Representatives, is holding McCarthy-like Congressional hearings beginning this Thursday on the "Radicalization of American Muslims."

Quite a bit of the proposed witness list has looked like a who's who of Islamophobes,
and we Muslim Americans are holding our collective breath waiting for the fallout from these hearings.

We wonder: will we see more hate mobs outside our mosques or events due to hysteria being whipped up by these hearings?

It's certainly possible, and Muslims around the country are strategizing on how to respond to protect our faith community from more bigoted protests,
or even dangerous attacks on our places of worship and individuals.

A Minnesota Democrat, congressman Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the House,

says that while it's proper to investigate radicalization, he thinks it is wrong to single out a religious minority.

"I worry about it," he said on the program. "Everybody I talk to worries about it, and we're concerned about the breadth of this."

He added, "It's absolutely the right thing to do for the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee to investigate radicalization,

but to say we're going to investigate a religious minority, and a particular one, I think is the wrong course of action to take."

On Sunday, groups opposed to King's hearings plan to rally in New York. President Barack Obama's deputy national security adviser

will speak on the administration's approach to countering domestic radicalization.

Yes to Muslims opposed to Islamism. No to IRI Groupies

by AMIR1973 on

West-residing IRI Groupies are propagandists for a regime that has executed tens of thousands of Iranians (mostly Muslims) and tortured, raped, and imprisoned many thousands more. So, let's say Yes to their Muslim victims and No to the illiterate and psychotic West-residing IRI Groupies. Period.

I Wonder!

by G. Rahmanian on

How many Muslim "brothers" shed tears for Iranians when in the mid-'90s they were singled out for finger printing and mug shots at the US ports of entry? Did I miss their marches in the streets of major American cities condemning the act?

Fundamentalist Molla: You

Fundamentalist Molla: You are the type of people that give a bad name to Islam and people like Peter King are worried about. You are not a exactly the greatest representative of your religion. I think many moderate muslim will find your extremism very disturbing.

by vildemose on

VPK: I agree. I wish this was done behind closed doors if the inquiry was driven by legitimate concerns, and they are legitimagte, indeed while we have people like Molla on this site who champions IRI so blatantly after all of the atrocities committed by IRI.

Molla: Do you think the 50,000 muslim doctors think like you??Do they all endorse and defend the indefensible like you??

I hope to god that is not the case because we will definitely need to be concerend.

  • I agree that Peter King is a right winger. He is not a friend of Civil Liberties. He is probably hostile to Islam. But so what? The rest of politicians are too timid to say anything. Someone needs to confront Islamic radicals. It is like WWII. Stalin was no saint neither were most other ally leaders including Churchill who was a known racist. But someone had to confront the Nazi movement and they turned out to be it.
  • Regarding Voltaire: No one is restricting people freedom of speech. The investigation is on radical Islam. It is legitimate to see if they are active training trouble makers. You know what is going on in Pakistan, The same stuff as in Saudi and elsewhere. In many ways far more dangerous than IR. USA needs to look into this. Maybe the hearings should have been secret but they better have them.

I wonder if he would ever cry for thousands of women who have been stoned to death in Iran, beheaded in Saudi Arabia, stabbed to death in Pakistan, shot point blank in Afghanistan, or closer to home for those women who have been killed by their muslim fathers in America for becoming too Westernized.

Dear VPOK: Here is what

by vildemose on

Dear VPOK: Here is what Juan Cole says:

Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY)’s hearings on the alleged ‘radicalization’ of American Muslims are an affront to the brave Middle Eastern Muslims who have, during the past two months, thrown off American-backed tyrannies and are even now battling the minions of murderous dictator Muammar Qaddafi. His hearings contain the same premise deployed by Zine El Din Ben Ali, Hosni Mubarak and Muammar Qaddafi– that dissent from their policies equalled Muslim radicalism.

King is no civil libertarian or even champion of the rule of law. He jumped up and down in support of invading and occupying Iraq, and has argued that Wikileaks should be designated a “terrorist” organization. He has no respect whatsoever for American civil liberties, and is assiduously undermining our Bill of Rights with measures such as the so-called PATRIOT act, and now these unfair hearings. American Muslims need no defense. They haven’t done anything wrong. And contrary to King’s asinine falsehoods, they’ve been remarkably good citizens. King is part of a whole industry of maligning Muslims for profit, as the Washington Monthly has shown. The bottom line: stereotyping any large group of people is always wrong.

It is well known that King is a notorious supporter of terrorism himself, having championed the bombing campaigns in London and elsewhere of the Irish Republican Army in the 1980s and early 1990s. He praised them for fighting “British imperialism.” He said, “If civilians are killed in an attack on a military installation, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the IRA for it.” The IRA is estimated to have killed 600 innocent civilians among the 1700 people it struck down. (I should clarify that I am not unsympathetic to Irish concerns on Northern Ireland, but I do object to people blowing up innocents; //www.juancole.com/2011/03/kings-nixonian-hearings.html

Mola Nasredeen

In defense of Muslim Americans

by Mola Nasredeen on

These are the words of Keith Ellison, US congressman and a Muslim himself, today:

"Let me close with a story, but remember that it's only one of many American stories that could be told. Mohammed Salman Hamdani was a 23-year-old paramedic, a New York City police cadet and a Muslim American. He was one of those brave first responders who tragically lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks almost a decade ago....

After the tragedy, some people tried to smear his character solely because of his Islamic faith. Some people spread false rumors and speculated that he was in league with the attackers only because he was Muslim. It was only when his remains were identified that these lies were fully exposed. Mohammed Salman Hamdani was a fellow American who gave his life for other Americans. His life should not be defined as a member of an ethnic group or a member of a religion, but as an American who gave everything for his fellow citizens."

Congressman Keith Ellison could not hold his tears back after making the above comment.

I did not call you an Islamist. Did you read my post? I am all for peoples rights. But not when their right involves killing other people; calling them najis or wrecking my nation.

Peter King wants to have hearings on Islamic radicalism. Why is this evn an attack.

The incidents you mention are mostly non fatal. Yes releasing a bunch of animals is considered a "terrorist" act. But it does not compare with murder of thousands. Youare deliberately trying to mix things up to create confusion.

I would have expected better from you. Do you really think releasing 250 mink or pouring sugar in gas tank is same as AQ? Shame on you. It is interesting how a criticism of Islam brings out the true nature of some people.

If you want to come up with apologies for Islam you have your work cut out for you. Good luck.

  • I am all for hearings on Christian radicalism. You should write your congressman or Senator.
  • Do you feel an attack on Islam is an attack on you? I don't. To me Islam is an alien thing that is anti-Iranian. Why do you feel you need to defend Islam.

I don't need your advise. By the same token why don't you join AQ? I oppose Tea Party based on economic ideas. I also oppose them because they are in the pockets of big money. Plus I like coffee.

However I do support the idea of standing up to Islamic radicals. I am sick and tired of pretending Islam is a peaceful "religion". I would like to see Islam reclassified as a cult. I did not move here from Iran just to have to put up with the same ***.

FYI: I have contacted Rep King and thanked him for his courage. He is a good man and we need more like him. I told his office I had seen "Islam" first hand and he is absolutely right and doing the right thing. I applaud him and his no nonsense style.
