Questioning authority is bright and can lead one to a better understanding. Critical literacy as a way of thinking encourages one to scrutinize issues from numerous perspectives, which henceforth assists in the recognition of social and political influences and helps one to avoid developing simplistic viewpoints. Questioning authority, (or anyone for that matter), should not carry a negative connotation even if it is perceived as discord. Let’s bear in mind that dissent is not a crime — to the contrary, dissent is a right! >>>

بختیار از معدود کسانی بود که خطر استبداد مذهبی را به خوبی درک کرده بودند، و مهمتر از آن این که او حاضر شده بود با شنا کردن بر خلاف جریان آب، بر اساس تشخیص خود عمل کند. یعنی درک واقعیت، و عمل بر اساس آن. بسیاری در اولی لنگ زدند و کمتر کسی حاضر بود که دومی را مرتکب شود. بینش و شجاعت عمل: این دو خصوصیتی بود که بختیار داشت و هیچ کس دیگر در موقعیت او نداشت. آن چه که بختیار نداشت زمان بود>>>

هرچند كمك به بيماران و نيازمندان از ديرباز بخش مهمي از فرهنگ مردم ايران زمين بشمار مي رفته اما آقاي مجيد بهرامي (افتخار فرهنگ و هنر و قهرمان ملي!) در سال 1386 نه تنها موجب از هم پاشيدگي زندگي هنري يكي از هنرمندان ما، خانم زهرا اميرابراهيمي شدند، بلكه در بازجويي هاي بعدي معلوم شد كه ايشان با دادن وعده هاي كار و غيره به دختران از طريق اينترنت و چت روم از آنان بصورت عريان تصويربرداري نموده و موجب فساد و تباهي آنان مي شده است>>>

Mohreye Sorkh or the “Scarlet Stone” was my father - Siavash Kasrai’s last epic poem and one that is less known to Iranians than his first one - Arash Kamangir. He wrote this poem in the darkest days of his bitter separation from the country he loved most- Iran. As harsh as it was, it is this separation however that gave him the perspective needed to ponder upon the meaning of his own aspirations and inspirations; the strength needed to analyze his generation, its heroism and its heights as well as its shortcomings and failures>>>
