The very countries calling on Iran to scrap their nuclear program are armed to the teeth with their own nuclear weapons. The United States, the United Kingdom, France and Israel are all nuclear powers. Germany, the Netherlands and the rest of the NATO countries are "sharers" of nukes kindly supplied to them by the US. Together they could destroy all of mankind ensuring that no life will exist on this planet for, lets say, the next several million millenniums>>>

Some of us seek to argue for a soft landing for US-Iran relations through things like serious mutually beneficial and peaceful dialog, and discussion, and well, for lack of the these days rarely used term, diplomacy. Having seen how entrenched Iran is after 32 years. If there was a chance to overthrow the current system and move it back on track to democracy, I think a pragmatic, less idealistic person would say, that time has passed>>>

The Islamic Republic of Iran is now more isolated than it has been since the 1980s, but it also has a greater capacity to respond in ways that could disrupt the world economy - affecting the price and supply of oil, for example. Iran has more mature asymmetric capabilities to carry out acts of violence abroad through groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas. And it has more missiles that could attack Saudi oil fields, as well as a steadily growing stockpile of partially enriched uranium that could be turned into nuclear weapons if Iran so chose>>>

ابراز نظر علی میرفطروس، پژوهشگر تاریخ ایران درباره‌ی حکومت و براندازی آن بشکل جراحی نظامی، بهانه‌ای برای «منتقدان شرمگین» رژیم شده است. این گرگانِ در لباس میش - به عمد - از درک کُنه نوشته‌ی این چهره‌ی سرشناس ادبی و فرهنگی ناتوان می‌مانند تا بتوانند چراغ‌های سبز چشمک‌زنشان را از دور و نزدیک برای حکومت روشن کنند. بساط توطئه، ترور شخصیتی، جوسازی و خاک‌پاشی به چشم مردم را می‌گسترانند و با فریاد «واسلاما»، «وامیهنا» به ترویج تفتیش و سانسور آن هم درجهان آزاد می‌پردازند>>>

درست یادم نیست که چه جوری در سال ۶۶ سر از "کمیسیون پزشکی تعیین درصد جانبازی شهدای زنده" در آوردم؛ اما مطمئنم که داستان خنده داری نداشت. کمیسیون هفته‌ای یکبار بعد از نماز و ناهار، پنج شنبه‌ها جلسه داشت. بجز مقام ریاست که خر مذهبی بود؛ بقیه ما همان عصر پنج شنبه دوره پوکر داشتیم. دکتر باقر الاسلام یک هفته در میان، پولمان را در پوکر روبسته می‌‌برد>>>

All attempts at negotiations have led nowhere, with Iran continuing to enrich uranium and improve its nuclear technology. Sanctions, while useful, work only in the very long term, and a change in the balance of power within the country is not foreseeable in the short term. So it is only a matter of time – and not much time – until Iran’s neighbors and the international community will confront a fateful choice: either accept Iran as a nuclear power, or decide that the mere prospect, as it becomes more realistic, is leading to war>>>

Once again we are facing the same dilemma, but this time the Iranians are the ones who are willing to destroy the world, plot the assassination of government authorities and drop the bomb that would catalyze a nuclear holocaust. The efforts of the Iranian authorities in the Islamic Republic on the policy of nuclear advancement and their alleged efforts to achieve nuclear weapons for the last 2 decades has been both costly and a serious risk to Iranian national security>>>

توجه کنيم که شخصيت های اجتماعی امروز، حتی مهلت روشنفکران سال 57 را هم ندارند. آنها می توانستند صبر کنند تا رژيم سابق از هم بپاشد و سپس، با خيال راحت و وجدان پاک با موج مردمی که سودا زده خواهان حکومت مذهبی بودند، همراه شوند. اما برای روشنفکر امروز مهلت صبر کردن وجود ندارد و آنچه در پی صبر و بی عملی او اتفاق خواهد افتاد از همان ابتدا با ويرانی و مرگ همراه خواهد بود>>>

پاهاش قوس داشت و از پائین به هم وصل میشد. انگار همیشه ی خدا یک چیزی آن وسطها بود که تو راه رفتن نمیتوانست جمع و جورش کند. وقتی داشت با جوانیهاش بای بای میکرد، از آن شلوارهای تنگ روباسنی میپوشید که از بس لاغر و مردنی بود، قوس پاهاش بدنما میشد. حالا که چاق شده بود، بدنماتر هم شده بود، انگار یک بچه ی خیکی که یک خروار پوشک به خشتکش وصل است. خودش را بدجوری میکشید>>>

Well this is awesome. It looks like we are finally getting somewhere! With the lines now drawn clearly, and less confusion coming from a rapidly winding down Iraq, and a soon to be quietly chirping with crickets Afghanistan, the US can rest up a bit, get some decent grub for a change, do some Christmas shopping and ring in the new year by turning it's attention to a much deprived Iran. Uh, Yeah Right! Not so fast!>>>
