Take Hostages, Wait for Cash

You want Iran to stop their Nuke program? Offer some cash!

17-Dec-2011 (2 comments)
Although we may hate to admit it, the pattern is nevertheless crystal clear. In 1979 when Iran took the US embassy staff hostage, it released them 333 days later after Ronald Reagan promised them cash, and several other promises he somewhat delivered and reneged on. The arms for hostages, and the Iran-Contra affair, are all there for you to review, of course Wikipedia has the details, but please, choose your own source, it's all perfectly visible>>>

ان.پی.تی فقط یک معاهده نیست. یک «معامله» است

آنچه برای تداوم و تحقق مقاصد ان.پی.تی اهميت دارد، برقراری توازن ميان تعهدات طرفين است

17-Dec-2011 (9 comments)

Workers Unite! Against War!

We, trade unionists in Tehran and other cities, extend our warm greetings to you from half way across the world. Please forgive us for not sending you a video message. Unfortunately trade unionism is considered a dangerous offense by the Iranian government and labor activists here are persecuted like dangerous criminals. Hence the need for extra caution even in a simple message of greeting such as this>>>

Go All the Way: Nuke Iran

Possibility of military action has gained new momentum

13-Dec-2011 (86 comments)
Are there no more sane diplomats or politicians amongst us? On the eve of 2012, are we witnessing a lack of leadership and sanity on the part of the American policy makers? Even though Obama offered to negotiate, the IRI hardliners chose not to sit and continue with the talks. However, negotiation is not a one-day or one way process. It takes months to come to a compromise in order to avoid a catastrophe. The factionalism in Iran stops any attempts in its tracks>>>

Whatever policy the United States adopts toward Iran, it will need to communicate it to the Iranian people. This will not be easy. Iranians are subject to heavy anti-American propaganda from the Islamic government. Not only are there no diplomatic relations, Tehran even creates many problems for people-to-people exchanges like student scholarship programs. The main tool of U.S. public diplomacy toward Iran is generous government funding of Voice of America's Persian TV and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Persian program>>>

America is Hostage

Iranian Americans should not accept devastation of their family homeland

11-Dec-2011 (21 comments)
Friends don't let friends drive drunk. Our leaders, drunk with power, and with the financial power of their Israeli/American co-conspirators (70 to 80% of Israeli citizens hold dual passports), are trying every trick to destroy Iran, If they can't get Iran to accept "regime change" and accept domination willingly by the US and Israel. We Americans will not have a better country if we allow ourselves to be manipulated by the main stream media allies of this unholy alliance>>>

WAR

Common (Non) Sense

Israel's war drums over Iran drown out common sense

08-Dec-2011 (one comment)
It has become an article of faith among Israeli leaders and their neoconservative partners in Washington that the only way Iran can be persuaded to back down in the nuclear standoff is if Tehran believes it's in real danger of being bombed. Hence the relentless war drums pounded by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Ehud Barak, despite the obvious misgivings of the Obama administration>>>

How to Avoid War

Obama must strongly embrace a cold-war-style strategy of containment

06-Dec-2011 (10 comments)
Calls are rising in the West for tougher actions against Iran, especially after a mob attack on the British Embassy in Tehran, Iranian plans to kill a Saudi envoy in Washington, and the latest report on the country’s nuclear program. Some Israeli leaders are again beating the war drums for an attack to prevent Iran from making atomic weapons. The US Congress wants to cripple Iran’s economy by punishing any country that does business with its central bank>>>

The Biggest Problem That's Not

American Enterprise Institute admits: Iran threat Isn't that it will launch nuclear attack

06-Dec-2011 (one comment)
Suddenly the struggle to stop Iran is not about saving Israel from nuclear annihilation. After a decade of scare-mongering about the second coming of Nazi Germany, the Iran hawks are admitting that they have other reasons for wanting to take out Iran, and saving Israeli lives may not be one of them. Suddenly the neoconservatives have discovered the concept of truth-telling, although, no doubt, the change will be ephemeral. The shift in the rationale for war was kicked off this week when Danielle Pletka explained what the current obsession with Iran's nuclear program is all about>>>

A Nuclear Iran: Get Used To It

Iran and the Nuclear Weapons Club

04-Dec-2011 (7 comments)
The very countries calling on Iran to scrap their nuclear program are armed to the teeth with their own nuclear weapons. The United States, the United Kingdom, France and Israel are all nuclear powers. Germany, the Netherlands and the rest of the NATO countries are "sharers" of nukes kindly supplied to them by the US. Together they could destroy all of mankind ensuring that no life will exist on this planet for, lets say, the next several million millenniums>>>

Pissing Off the U.S.

Why it is NOT a good idea

Some of us seek to argue for a soft landing for US-Iran relations through things like serious mutually beneficial and peaceful dialog, and discussion, and well, for lack of the these days rarely used term, diplomacy. Having seen how entrenched Iran is after 32 years. If there was a chance to overthrow the current system and move it back on track to democracy, I think a pragmatic, less idealistic person would say, that time has passed>>>

Why the UK Embassy was attacked?

02-Dec-2011 (33 comments)
The disgraceful attack by hardline Basijis - the same group that beat and killed peaceful demonstrators in Iran in 2009 - against the British embassy in Tehran appears on the surface to be a response to Britain's role in imposing crippling sanctions on Iran. The US and the EU are preparing new sanctions on Iran, including potentially Central Bank and oil sanctions. And there has been an onslaught of computer viruses, assassinations of Iranian scientists, and several Iranian facilities have blown up in just a few week>>>
