STORY
Before the dawn broke, the Queen had a sudden insight
Once she stepped out of her daughter's room, the Queen experienced a strong tension inside her between her concern for the Princess and her hate for the girl’s shadow. She had a compulsion to find the shadowy boy to kill him, but she knew of the sorrow her daughter would suffer if she went through with her idea of eliminating the boy. The Queen didn’t know what to do with her stressful dilemma. All night, her moods rivalled the erratic movements of the stock markets of today’s world

"Shadows are not as important as reflections"
The Princess howled for the water creatures to come back to their source. All the water creatures howled back to her. They dissolved into obscure images, climbed onto the surface, joined each other in the middle of the lake to become the girl’s reflection. The image moved back on the water surface to place itself before its owner. Nisha expected to find herself quite happy. Yet, she underwent sadness as she realized how her vital need for her reflection deprived the lake of water creatures

STORY
This is the tale of a girl who lost her shadow three thousand years ago. It was so, it was not so, let us wish it may be so. In Hyrcania, Gorgan, Land of the Wolves, on the southern shores of the Caspian Sea, lived seven year-old Princess Nisha with her mother, Queen regnant Opal, in their rustic castle on Mount Khandān. The whip-carrying, horse-back riding Queen had been part of the settling of the nomadic people from the steppes

LOVE

IDEAS
By combining his views, shaped at Sorbonne, with Islamic concepts and terminology, Shari’ati bridged the social divide between the traditional and modern segments of Iran’s youth, appealing to a broader spectrum of the society than anyone else. The fact that Shari’ati’s thoughts were influenced by Western thinkers was held against him by various opponents. “Subsequent claims by Shari’ati’s adherents of his familiarity with people like Frantz Fanon and Jean-Paul Sartre seem more to be exaggerations of casual acquaintances than facts, but...

Be the lifeline to a child who hasn’t been as fortunate as yours
Recently, I attended a fundraising by International Society for Children with Cancer (ISCC) for MAHAK. I admit I didn’t know much about these organizations. I could blame such ignorance on a number of excuses, but my ultimate comfort came from the fact that it’s never too late. I have since learned that ISCC is an affiliate of MAHAK, one of the best children’s cancer centers in the Middle East that for years has offered free treatment to thousands of needy children
