ايذاء دينى

در اين نوشتار به شناسايى و بررسى پديده اى ميپردازيم كه كمتر به آن توجه شده، يا لا اقل كمتر از اين زاويه به آن نگاه شده است. اين پديده كه ميتوان آن را "وجه ايذائى" دين - و در اينجا مشخصا دين اسلام - ناميد تاكنون به عنوان بخشى لاينفك از دين به عنوان يك كليت فرض شده است و اين شايد نخستين بار است كه كوششى، هر چند مختصر، در تفكيك نظرى اين مقوله از بخش "خوشخيم" دين صورت ميگيرد. گمان ميكنيم كه چنين تفكيكى در تئورى به فتح گفتمان جديدى از مباحث آزادى و عدالت در جامعه ايرانى كمك ميكند و از اين رهرو ميتواند سر نخى تازه براى حركت به سمت يك جامعه مدنى در ايران را به دست دهد>>>

When All You Have is a Hammer...

Yes, right around the time Ahmadinejad is at the podium in the UN, Congress is expected to impose what it calls "crippling sanctions" on Iran's economy. The plan is to blockade Iran's foreign supplies of gasoline, hoping that an increase in the price per gallon at the pump will cause the Iranian people to rise up and demand a halt to Iran's nuclear program. But this plan has number of obvious flaws. First, the Iranian people have already risen up against the government's hardline leadership. آب در هاون کوبیدن

در ایران معاصر اعتراف گیری تاریخچه ای دیرپا دارد و در رژیم سابق و فعلی به وفور مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است. پرویز نیکخواه، کورش لاشائی، رضا براهنی، غلامحسین ساعدی، و پرویز قلیچ حانی از معروفترین قربانیان پروژهء اعتراف گیری در رژیم پهلوی به شمارمیروند. پرویز نیکخواه در دادگاه به عنوان یکی از عوامل طرح ترور محمدرضا شاه در سال ۱۳۴۴ به ده سال زندان محکوم شد و مدت شش سال در مقابل فشارهای ساواک ایستادگی کرد ولی به یکباره مقاومتش در هم شکست و در ششمین سال زندان به جرم خود اعتراف کرده و شروع به همکاری با رژیم شاه کرد. پس از آن بود که از کسوت یک قهرمان خارج شده و حتی بین همفکرانش در گروه های چپ نیز به عنصری منفور و خائن بدل گشت>>>

Lessons from Pakistan

Public anxiety about Iran's nuclear intentions is focused on the Natanz uranium enrichment plant, which in many respects -- in both the public debate and the policy discussion -- resembles the situation in the 1980s when there was growing concern about Pakistan's Kahuta enrichment plant. The lessons that can be draw from that experience are not encouraging. The comparison is particularly appropriate because Iran uses the same high-speed centrifuge technology to enrich uranium as does Pakistan. Photos of Iranian centrifuges show some of them as identical to Pakistani designs developed by the disgraced A.Q. Khan>>>

تا آقای زنگنه را دیدم زود فهمیدم که حالش خوش نیست. زنگنه بنگاهدار محلمان است. مردی جاافتاده که در کار جوش دادن معاملات خرید و فروش و رهن و اجاره املاک ید طولانی دارد. همیشه اورکت سبز آمریکایی که 25 سال پیش در تهران مد بود، می پوشد. سبیل هایی به سبک چارلی چاپلین دارد با قدی کوتاه، چشمانی زنده و قهوه ای و پر از شیطنت ، همواره پر جنب و جوش. مدیریت خوبی دارد. کارها را خیلی راحت تقسیم بندی کرده و هر مشتری تازه واردی را به مسئول مربوطه ارجاع میدهد.آپارتمان های اجاره ایی، فروشی، خانه، مغازه ، ویلایی، زمین بایر، زیر پله، اطاق دانشجویی ، مجردی ... هر کدام تحت مباشرت فردی که زنگنه با توجه به خصوصیاتشان گزینش کرده است>>>

Pieces of the puzzle

The history of civil unrest in Iran since the inception of the Islamic Republic in 1979 points at an ever-increasing discontent among the general population in Iran. Whether this is an existential threat to Iran’s regime has a lot to do with what the ruling class may decide to do with the current unrest. There is a substantive difference between this one and all the others. One may argue that this upheaval is a natural culmination of the preceding ones which were left unresolved and followed by more forceful repression. To more objectively digest the situation in Iran it might be advised to have an open mind about the classification of the protesters>>>

ايران برای همهء ايرانيان؟

بنظرم می رسيد که شعار «ايران برای همهء ايرانيان» بجا و بهنگام طرح شده است. در سال 1376 بخش عمده ای از ايرانيان دريافته بودند که، با وجود حکومت اسلامی، مالک موطن خويش نيستند و به حد شهروندان درجه دو و سهء وطنشان سقوط کاگر نيک بنگريم، آشکارا می بينيم که نسل امروز ايران تاريخی سی ساله را در اين تفسير خلاصه می کند که «پدران و مادران ما برای تحقق "استقلال و آزادی" به پا خواستند. از آنجا که کشورشان را در تصرف عدوانی بيگانه می ديدند خواستار استقلال شدند، و چون آزادی های مصرح در قانون اساسی مشروطه را به دست دربار بر باد رفته می يافتند، از آزادی خواهی به جمهوری خواهی رسيدند. اما فريب بزرگ از آنجا آغاز شد که دينکار اعظمی، که بيشتر مددکار شيطان بود تا بندهء خدا، از فرصت استفاده کرد و لفظ بی ربط و معنا و خطرناک "حکومت اسلامی" را کنار آن دو خواست موجه و شيرين نهاد >>>

Crisis of Alienation

The solution to the current global economic crisis which is the direct result of the private sector dominance and decades of deregulation (regulations in favor of the dominant private sector) is now being presented in the form of massive public (government) intervention by way of the public ownership. But the instantaneous reaction has been against such intervention on the ground that government intervention simply means the loss of freedom. How ironic that in the name of freedom, the very essence of freedom by way of commodity peddling, commodification, market supremacy and market fundamentalism is being altered. This is a natural outcome of indiscriminate application of concepts in an ideologically loaded, politically distorted process and private sector dominant environment>>>
