That was a pretty good satire and the point was as valid. The main assumptions of the supporters of the sanctions, is that the US and other powers will do it for the sake of charity. It’s like me investing in your business and take all the risks, only for you to have all the profits.

Marge is also right about Europe. No one needs to be the scholar of the European History to make a simple comparison between Europe and the Middle East. British Magna Carta (Great Charter of Freedom) that gave rise to British Parliament and protected every citizen's human right was issued in 1215. It is given that the human rights was stumbled upon by the church in the later centuries, but that is how old are these notions in some European societies, and America's direction was formed by European settlers.

We have had our own attempts at parliamentary democracy and are learning our way through our mistakes. We have allowed formation of monarchy and religious dictatorships on two occasions after we thought we had secured freedom. It is amazing how closely we follow the same road as Europeans in defeating the palace and the church. I am sure that we will reach the real democracy but it cannot be injected by sanctions or war.

my other memory of fred's impatience this summer

i remember telling this guy after 3 days of protests following the election when Fred John wrote "are you disappointed in your IRI? Didn't get your wish?" An observer from inside Iran who is actually in touch with realities on the ground in Iran, could perhaps argue that it is people like you who are hijacking the Green movement and actually making it more difficult for activists inside Iran to push back at the dictatorship.

Also your posts is full of contradictions. On the one hand you say you are not attacking anyone, only a few sentences before it you resort to slander and character assassination. 

When the green movement asked for support they did not mean that we on the outside shout at the top of our lungs that we want Monarchy reinstanted, Rajavi for our leader or some western ass kisser chalabi type iranian to direct the movement from outside... they did not ask to fly shiro khorshid flag at every venue. They did not ask for sanctions. They did not ask for war.

They are going to be more appreciative if people were in tune with the movement inside Iran and did not get ahead of it purely for their own self interest.
