"Ask not what Iranians can do for Iran, but what you can do to make America (or Israel) do things for Iranians."

-A Speech by King of Kings Fred the Peacock and Former Chicken, Who Calls Those Who Disagree With Him, BUGGERS. Classy and witty, he is on the frontlines of fighting for democracy and educating with taste and tact, why Iranians in Iran are incapable of getting rid of a bad regime. If you don't think that democracy can be served fast-food style, then you are not patient (HA!), but according to Fred actually a bugger, mullah worshipper communist who probably smokes too much weed.

I am intrigued by Fred's love affair with the magical gift that American action can bestow on undemocratic, tyrannical nations densely populated by Muslims. He actually compares this possibility to what America "did" for Europe during WW II. Did you know they themselves wrote constitutions guaranteeing health care for all citizens while Americans are threatening secession if health care passes? You see, dear Iranian cattle, Europe does not owe to itself what happened after the war. The credit is due entirely to America, and should the great shaytan repeat such an allied offense, well it will be a non stop, one way monorail ride to democracy, freedom, and no more thumb printing at airports!

Before you get out your crayons and markers to write the new constitution, realize that most Americans do not view us as worthy or capable of partnership. In fact, there has never really been a trustworthy partnership. Sometimes we had leaders who were so dependent on the US, that once the US took that paternalistic attitude to the toilet, as our beloved James Carter did following the failure of the island of stability, we turned into save dwellers who jump over fires and threaten Israel, while letting facial hair grow to the ground (even some women!).

I don't think that we Iranians should deny this winning lottery ticket should Fred's sponsors deliver it to us. We will be free as Europe to draft treaties and constitutions, elect freely, and debate honestly, without fear of finding family members face down in the caspian. It will be a sweet deal and you can guarantee that your grandchildren, and their grandchildren will be ever grateful for these blogs and demands for neo-conservative policies to "help" Iran. Democracy and freedom are not free and until American blood is spilled for Iranian democracy, we can't expect our rights and freedoms as Iranians.

Stand with the People of Iran - TAKE ACTION

by MM on

Just a few hours ago, two pieces of legislations were drafted in the congress to convey that the US is with the people of Iran, against the human rights violations in Iran and to deal with the companies that do business with the mullahs.  Two summaries below were taken from a "call for action" email.

SWIPA: "Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MI) and Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-MA) introduced the Stand with the Iranian People Act (SWIPA)!  SWIPA does away with current laws prohibiting US humanitarian aid organizations and people like you from working to feed hungry children, build hospitals or promote human rights in Iran. SWIPA enables you to directly work to help the Iranian people. SWIPA also imposes targeted sanctions on Iran’s human rights abusers and makes sure companies that support the repression of Iranians are NOT rewarded US government contracts."

Also,

IDEA: “The Iranian Digital Empowerment Act (IDEA) provides the Iranian people uncensored and unfiltered access to the Internet—no longer will the US laws cut off MSN messenger or Google or threaten to close Facebook in Iran. Rather, US laws will allow American tech companies to provide anti-censorship software to ordinary Iranians.”

Take action to pass these legislations by writing to your congress-person that you support these types of laws that favor the people of Iran and punish the mullahs.

Alternatively, after reviewing the legislations (blue links), you can take two minutes by clicking here for an easy access to contact your congress-person!

Thanks.

thanks for your fatwa masoud. now follow your own orders.

by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on

ok so i get what i have to do and all i have to say is this: go screw yourself with your own advice. practice what you preach. instead of worrying about my thoughts on khamenei and rafsanjani, produce your own freaking ideas.

i am not limited to my options of expression because you have branded me as an agent you narrow minded imbecile. I can't believe young adults come to you for education when you practice academics like this on the WWW. in fact, you're a terrorist of the same order as IRI because you impose yourself on others in the same meaningless annoying way.

I am not an agent and shame on you for your baseless accusations. I never once flagged your pathetic comments because I want people to see the level to which you and others on IC stoop when your "ideas" are challeged. You make people want to stop using this site by these actions and it's sickening. I'm shocked JJ hasn't stepped in, but this sort of dramatics is a good thing for site traffic so I understand.

final responses

NP,

I did see the Monty Python’s film you are referring to. I laughed very hard at the segment you mentioned because it is our political culture from left to right to center. I do NOT think that that segment has relevance to the differences here. I think our differences are quite serious.

I do NOT share your impression of kharmagas = anon7. I agree with you that he is NOT Mamad. I am able to read only a very small fraction of posts here, so I do not know if khar was saying that. I think I saw khaleh mosheh was saying that kharmagas is Mamad while kharmagas was harassing her. For good or ill, Mamad has brain; fortunately kharmagas does not.

For example, kharmagas is calling Rafsanjani "liberal." The only groups in Iran that use the term "liberal" for "Rafsanjani" are those in the extreme right wing hard-line camp. We liberals do NOT call Rafsanjani a "liberal." For us, the term liberal means "azadikhah" and democrat, and Rafsanjani is a lot of things, but azadikhah and democrat he certainly is not. In the past 30 years, we have used many terms for Rafsanjani such as "maktabi," "fundamentalist," "fascist," "hezbollahi," "chomaghdar" etc. We, liberals, never use the term "liberal" for Rafsanjani. Kharmagas claims to be a liberal!!!!!!! Monarchists do NOT call Rafsanjani a "liberal." Marxists do NOT call Rafsanjani a "liberal." Nor do the Hezb Democrat Kordestan, PMOI, etc. The ONLY groups in Iran that use the term "liberal" for Rafsanjani are those in the extreme hard-line camp close to Mesbah, Ahmadinejad and the like. Therefore, the use of the term "liberal" by kharmagas to refer to Rafsanjani betrays kharmags’s true identity.

So, it is the pattern of words used by kharmagas as well as the pattern of attacks on those who oppose the IRI by kharmagas that makes others regard him an IRI agent.  He constantly uses vulgarities against opponents of the fundamentalist regime.  The use of vulgarities is the typical method of the fundamentalists to intimidate opponents from expressing themselves. The words he uses and sorts of attacks he makes, are those of someone in the hard-line fundamentalist camp, although he is not smart enough to hide them well.

my 2 rial,

Masoud

=============================

Marge,

YOUR words are what damn you. I am not the first one who has called you an IRI agent. Ask yourself why others think of you as being one of the most disgusting persons imaginable: an agent of the Ministry of Intelligence of IRI that has a long record of the most heinous crimes against the Iranian people.

Let me give you a little advice. If for the next few weeks, you attack Khomeini, Khamenei, and Ahmadinejad, then no one would buy my assertion.

I have made my point, so this is my last post on this (unless you ask for an specific answer).

You wrote: i do not consider it a cardinal sin for people to actually express support for the iranian government's positions on some matters.

Neither do I. It is the silence on the crimes the IRI is committing that makes it a "cardinal sin." The same type of silence that you yourself exercise.

"in the Final analysis (and much as we all would hate to admit), the iranian regime is an iranian regime, and enjoys the support of many inside iran."

Your final analysis is flawed as your views are. Sacrifice the majority for a criminal minority? In my final analysis, the regime and its minority supporters you are refering to are raping and looting Iran. They must be stopped. The more I read your views, the more I am convinced that you are closet regime supporter that would be happy with just a few minor reforms.

"so let us cut down on the name calling and engage in genuine debate with our most difficult opponents - even the ones you suspect of being spies. if we can manage to do that in the free space that we have on the web, perhaps it can one day be done in iran too."

The day you focus more of your time on pressing the IRI to do the same, then I'll take your suggestion as genunie. It is the IRI who is engaged in name-callings that lands people in prison, not the likes of Dr. Kazemzadeh whose type you seem to be more concerned about. So your focus seems to be misplaced. One more reason I have my doubts about what you really support.

"i would also add that most iranians would agree with him (kharmagas)"

And where did you pull out this conclusion from? Just like that? Well, I like to further add to your statement that most Iranians are opposed to many of his other views too, I am referring to the portion of his views that are sitting in a closet.

By the same analogy, both you and Marge must be "badly ugly". Now go bow to a Russian or to a China man, your pick. They seem to be doing a good job of training the Basij and the ministry of information, don't you think?

Your thoughts and views are along the lines of foreign-controled thoughts. Opps, did I forget to say that the only "foreigners" are not Americans? There are Russians, Chinese, Arabs, and yes even Turks who are taking great advantage of the sad state of affairs in Iran. They would love to keep the IRI in place for another few decades.

Your second-class-foreigner controled "views" on the opposition, including the Green movement opposition, does not serve the people of Iran. It only serves the IRI's and your second-class foreign masters. And you know it. if you don't know it, then you must be one of those "Useful Idiots".

Idea for masoud!! he questioned my partiotism and interrogated me about "what have you done". you know it's a great tactic, accusing people of agent and spying. I mean...... how can marge prove she is not an agent, and once is accused, she is pretty much slimed and cast under shadow. fine. i can live with that. but it is this mentality that takes people out of the democratic process and I don't mean just this alternate reality known as iranian.com and blogging. i'm talking about reality and how masoud and men like him are in real life.

hopefully we will evolve. as terrible as masoud has been toward those who disagree with him, I still love him and he is another iranian who has left the homeland. he's part of the same sad story that i am apart of. i just see it differently and i don't wish to blame him.

Regarding the jebhemellichi (to Niloufar Parsi)

by kharmagas on

I have been in disagreement with that jebhemellichi since I came to know his views on sanctions. Reading many of his comments I then found his lack of maturity even more appalling than his views. He'll do anything, and he'll shake hands with anyone to secure himself a position. He is another Rajavi. However, I am embarrassed to say that ideologically I have much similarity with this creature!

kharmagas

Regarding your mixed analysis!? (to Niloufar Parsi)

by kharmagas on

Niloufar, each of us are different and that is for the better. Not all of us need to be good writers, some of us need to be good readers. I never "complained" that I am not a good writer, I simply have stated in several places that I don't consider myself a good writer (I consider myself a very good engineer, I have more engineering degrees that you believe me if I state it)!

Regarding me being a fan of Mammad, yes I do have great respect for Mammad and his views, but we do have our differences, some of which I stated in a blog three weeks ago, and I have pasted below. I don't need to have same level of writing skills as Mammad to agree with him!!!, but here is what Mammad said:

"By the way, I only write under my own name. I like and respect Kharmagas, even though I do not know who he is. I just like the way he writes, brief, insightful, to the point. I wish I could do that. So, even in this respect, Kharmagas > Mammad, not equality as you put in. I know a little math!"

SEE:

//iranian.com/main/2009/nov/short-war?pag...

Here are some of my differences with Mammad:

1- I am not a Muslim, in fact I was very anti Islam when I was young.
2- I don't consider more democracy in Iran a priority, Mammad does
3- Mammad does not believe Iran should produce nukes, and should compromise. I believe Iran should produce nukes.
....

n+1- I am a jerk(inconsequential person), Mammad is not.

masoud.... dear god if you are an academic I am a nobel candidat

by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on

i did not complain that it was over you twit! I am anti-war ENTIRELY because of deceivers like Rafsanjani and Bush, who use the masses for their own benefit. That is all war and army gathering is! My comment, which you did not read because you are a complete monomaniac, is about how evil Rafsanjani is IN GENERAL. His lies about the war serve as another example. Keep trying!

oh and even my dear love bill clinton used war and bombs to distract people from his hide the salami games. Rafsanjani and IRI are no different, although the only benefit of the doubt you can give them is that they were attacked by saddam. but they sure squeezed a lot of juice out of that didn't they? they used that war much in the same way neo cons used 9-11 to go after saddam instead of al qaeda/ bin laden.

Anyway I'm glad you read my Rafsanjani comment and continue with your Marge is an AGENT project. I hope you win some awards!

You are such a generic Iranian when it comes to politics, considering how obsessed with freedom you seem to be. You need to learn to tolerate others' free expression or ideas without accusing them of spying. Oh well. I probably am so who cares?

Thank dog I don't do this with my real name. People like you, who are no different than IRI, are the reason Iranians avoid politics. People like you and Rafsanjani. Keep accusing while people die in Iran. It's totally productive. Don't forget to write a couple anti-Niac blogs and comments while you're at it.

Patriotism for the day - CHECK>

Niloufar Parsi

Masoud

by Niloufar Parsi on

thanks for the response. i can see you are serious. let me start by asking you what might seem like a silly question: you ever watched monty python's 'life of brian'? there is this part where they bitch about a different political group (the People's Front of Judea versus the Judean People's Front), and it all looks ludicrous from a third party's point of view because they all sound so much alike. I get a feeling like that when i read some of the comments.

you can choose to believe me or not, but i have never been involved in any iranian party politics directly. therefore, my views would not fit that of any group, but from what i gather, people like me may sound like we move from the position of one party to another on different matters that are discussed.

in other words, you seem to take the positions of the established parties as a measure to judge others by. however, those parties are really the fringe. the majority of us have little or nothing to do with them.

fact is, my position is the 'normal' or more 'genuine' one than that of the various political parties because i have personally come to the conclusions that i have without direction or guidance from a specific group alone.

to you, however, i may sound like a weirdo or even a spy, and then you may come here and start calling me all kinds of names because of this basic misunderstanding.

i have often come across accusations on who is who and what here concerning many people. luckily i have not been attacked so much myself but i am sure this will not last! so let me give you my impression:

kharmagas is anonym7 and is NOT mammad. one reason: he is too much of a fan of mammad without half his writing skills (sorry Khar, but you know i am right!). also, he sees himself as a 'true' patriot who would any day support an iranian regime - such as the one we have and we all dislike - over siding with foreign invaders. he would call many here 'traitors' because he means it. i often find myself in agreement with his positions, but he never writes his own blogs (and then complains that he cannot write so well, but i don't know why he does not practice!). i would also add that most iranians would agree with him, and this is one of the main reasons for example why the great majority cannot stand the mujahedin.

Marge's political position is less clear to me because she is more into jest and satire, and is very good at it too. that she has what may seem like conflicting views to you could easily be explained by the first 3 paras above. what convinces me the most about Marge is just her style. it is too cool and sharp to be the work of the type of person you describe her as.

ok that is about it, and i am sure you will think that i am just too naive. or a lefty loser. i would simply point out to you, Masoud, that every one of us is an individual with the right to hold any political views and even conflicting ones bnecause we are human and fallible and - hopefully - in a constant process of learning.

i do not consider it a cardinal sin for people to actually express support for the iranian government's positions on some matters. in the Final analysis (and much as we all would hate to admit), the iranian regime is an iranian regime, and enjoys the support of many inside iran. this is the sad fact and reality that we have to come to terms with, and then move forward in dialogue and activism alike: with a sober, realistic and forward-looking approach.

most countries' citizens act in the same way: the Brits hated the iraq war, but re-elected labour, and the same with the americans and Bush who got a second term in office. just recently the Brits wanted to make Blair the President of the EU. i consider the man a war-criminal, but did you notice how the british papers all seemed to support his candidature?

so let us cut down on the name calling and engage in genuine debate with our most difficult opponents - even the ones you suspect of being spies. if we can manage to do that in the free space that we have on the web, perhaps it can one day be done in iran too.

Peace

Masoud Kazemzadeh

"fundamentalist warmonger"

by Masoud Kazemzadeh on

Rostam jaan,

Thank you again. I will be extremely busy the next month. If I get some time, I will try to post a brief discussion of JM’s views and analyses on the latest development.

I think my impression of Marge is accurate. Let me analyze what s/he wrote on Wednesday.

Marge:

Anyway i hope people never forget the sppeches he gave during the war demanding support and rallying for battle for another 12 years, only to sign away the war the next day. corrupt bastard.

Masoud: This person is upset that Rafsanjani stopped the war and did NOT continue the war with Iraq. The ONLY persons in Iran that wanted the war with Iraq to continue was the ultra hard line faction in the IRGC. The ONLY persons in Iran that TODAY complains that the war with Iraq should have continued is the extreme violent faction mostly in the IRGC.

This Marge person had been pretending that "she" is a communist who is anti-war.

Now, Marge attacks Rafsanjani because Rafsanjani was against continuing the war!!!!

Let me repeat. NO communist organization in Iran advocated the continuation of the war with Iraq. ONLY the most extreme groups inside IRI wanted to continue the war with Iraq. Marge call Rafsanjani a "bastard" because Rafsanjani did not do what Marge and other extremist fundamentalists advocated: the continuation of the war with Iraq.

How the hell one can equate being anti-war with being ultra bellicose warmonger for whom 8 years of war was not long enough!!!!!!

I hope this is helpful.

Best,

Masoud

response

by Masoud Kazemzadeh on

NP,

I would be grateful if you would answer my questions.

1. In actual fact, has the IRI send its agents abroad to undermine the opposition? Yes or no.

2.  You and I post on this site so that we could influence the opinion of the readers.  Considering that this site is one of the most popular sites for Iranians abroad, does it make sense for the IRI to assign an agent (or agents) to post on iranian.com in order to influence the opinion of the readers and/or intimidate the enemies of the IRI from posting their critical perspectives?

3. If the Ministry of Intelligence decided to assign an agent or agents to post on iranian.com, would it be more or less effective for this agent to assume a cover or to announce that s/he is an agent of the MOI?

I would like to point to the following comments by Marge and kharmagas. But before that, let me explain why they are significant.

If someone who is against all the factions within the fundamentalist regime (hard-line, Rafsanjani, reformist), it would be "normal" to attack Rafsanjani. This is a normal perspective for JM (liberal democrat, social democrat), monarchist (usually conservative), actual Iranian Marxist parties, PMOI, and the like. But if someone attacks Greens and attacks Rafsanjani, but is SILENT on Ahmadinejad and Khamenei, what does this say about their politics and motives??????

Marge claims to be a communist, and Kharmagas claims to be an atheist democrat!!!!!!!!! No actual Iranian Marxist ORGANIZATION that I know of (Fadaian-Minority, Fadaian-Majority, Hezb Kommunist Kargari, Komeleh) does these. One may disagree or agree with these organizations, but they are bona fide communist organizations (i.e., not fake or front entities created by the IRI to fool people).

In my humble opinion, what Marge and Kharmagas do simply do NOT add up. In my humble opinion, it simply does NOT add up for a "communist" or an "atheist democrat," to spend ALL their time attacking various members of the opposition in their posts on this site. And recently, these two poster are ATTACKING reformists (Makhmalbaf and Sazegara) and Rafsanjani.

Kharmagas who used to post under the name anon7 has been posting on this site from the get-go. How could he be atheist and democrat but he never attacks the IRI, which is religious fundamentalist and terribly dictatorial????

Marge calls Rafsanjani "war criminal bastard."  But why Marge does NOT use these words against Khamenei and Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini??????? In other words, why is Rafsanjani "war criminal bastard" but Khamenei and Khomeini are not?????? At this particular juncture that Greens and the pro-democracy groups and individuals are concentrating all their attacks on Khamenei and Ahmadinejad, WHY Marge and kharmagas are attacking Rafsanjani instead? WHO is attacking Rafsanjani at THIS juncture?????

I am simply sharing my perceptions here. If my perceptions are correct, then they should help prevent naive individuals from being used as useful idiots by these two persons who consistently do what benefits those in power in IRI (currently Khamenei and Ahmadinejad) and consistently attack the various opposition groups.

My analysis: Rafsanjani and his family are among the most hated members of the fundamentalist oligarchy (and rightly so). Ahmadinejad, IRGC and Khamenei want to purge him. That is why they attack Rafsanjani at this particular juncture. What would the regime want its agents (assuming that there are some here) to do? By attacking Rafsanjani, the coup regime is undermining an (unpopular) ally of Mousavi, Karrubi, and Khatami. And this is precisely what Marge and kharmagas did in that thread.

Just see how MANY times, kharmagas has used vulgar and bullying words for me? Have I used any vulgar words or bullying words for him?  All I have done is cut-and-paste his own words and connecting the dots???? Same with many of Marge’s choice words.

What you wrote is NOT fair and NOT accurate. I did what every decent democrat would do; share his or her opinions and observations that might help undermine the fundamentalist regime and help the pro-democracy opposition.

mofattesh vildmose!?

by kharmagas on

To people that I respect on this site, and they have asked my views politely, I have clearly explained my views (which are very far from Q's views ideologically). I am not under any moral obligation to describe my views to you.

Now go find the shovel (a clip from DaijAn napelon):

Kharmagas. It's ludicrous

by vildemose on

Kharmagas. It's ludicrous for you to label me as a psychphant of AIPAC because if I were, I would not be ashamed of it. In fact, I do think if there were no AIPAC tomorrow, there will be a need for it to regroup and reassert itself.  Unlike you who are ashamed of revealing your true allegiances.

Remember Q always uses that phrase too. There is 2% possiblity that I might be wrong about you. However, you and Q share the same rancid, immature disposition.

Rostam "jAn"

by kharmagas on

Rostam "jAn", You being or not being monarchist wasn't the point. If you say you are not, that is fine. My labeling you as monarchist need not be more accurate than you and Kaze labeling some of us as useful idiots or useful clowns!

Who are you Kharmagas, Q???

by vildemose on

Who are you Kharmagas, Q??? Why do you support the Islamic Republic?? Why are you afraid to admit that. Why not be proud of your stance??
