Why doesn't the U.S. talk to Iran?

Why have successive U.S. administrations been reluctant to enter into a conflict-resolution dialogue with Iran, which could clearly be in the national interests of the United States? The answer, in a nutshell, is that U.S. foreign policy, especially in the Middle East, is driven not so much by broad national interests as they are by narrow but powerful special interests—interests that seem to prefer war and militarism to peace and international understanding

Is it not a greater sin to deny people their basic human and civil rights based on an alleged sin?
It is from a position of relative privilege that I sense a strong religious and civic obligation to address the most pressing injustices that face our nation today and beseech the rest of my community to do the same. I know that many Muslims, as well as Jews and Christians, may think that homosexuality is wrong based on their readings of their religious texts. And while I wholeheartedly disagree with them, I still appeal to them to follow the greater teachings of our respective faiths

از همان اول احساس کردم که پریاپوس از ایرانیها خوشش نمی آید
جناب پریاپوس، فرزند نامشروع دیونوسوس (Dionysus) و آفرودیته (Aphrodite) و سمبل باروری در یونان قدیم شمرده میشود، دارای آلتی است بلند و بزرگ وهمیشه راست. به قولی Large, Permanent Erection (LPE). واژه پزشکی Priapism به افتخار ایشان وارد فرهنگ طب شده و به مردانی اطلاق می شود که به پیروی از جد بزرگوارشان پریاپوس همیشه خدا دچار LPE هستند. حالا تصورش را بکنید که من باید با جناب ایشان بیست روز تمام در این اوضاع و شرایط بروم ایران

تنها صدای ماشین رختشویی به جا می ماند
و رخت های من و تو
از یادهای خوشبوی شبانه تهی می شوند:
از بوی هیزم و نمناکی علف
از لکه های شراب روی پیراهن تو
و سرخی تمشک بر سرآستین من
