This year, he has outrageously announced that Sakineh was never sentenced to death by stoning. The reason for his absurd claim is not that there is any truth in it but because of the massive international protest movement against stoning and executions in Iran led by the International Committee against Stoning and the International Committee against Execution>>>

خانم رهنورد در مصاحبه اخیر خود با نیک‌آهنگ کوثر در سایت «خودنویس» از این قتل عام تحت عنوان «جنایت» و «لکه‌های سیاهی ... که به آب زمزم و کوثر سفید نتوان کرد» یاد کرده است. فراموش نکنیم که رهبران اصلاح‌طلب در جمهوری اسلامی تا همین یکی دو سال گذشته حتا به ندرت حاضر می‌شدند در مورد این فاجعه سخنی بگویند. و اکنون زهرا رهنورد در عین این که از همسرش به عنوان یک «مذهبی دوست‌دار امام خمینی» یاد می‌کند ابایی ندارد که قتل عام سال ۶۷ را جنایت و لکه سیاه بنامد.>>>

Caught being different

Sama’ (The Audition-2)

The heavenly taste of jinn baklava still sweetening our breaths, Halsa and I were shown upstairs to our room. I did not remember ever having enjoyed baklava as much. Strangely, I could not even remember ever having eaten baklava before. When was the last time? Jinn tricks, I thought. I just hadn’t imagined that they would take it as far as the kitchen. Good idea though, making a dish so magically delicious it takes away all memory of having eaten the same dish before. “How long before the effects of this sweet rosewater potion wears off?” I asked Halsa as we climbed the stairs>>>

تواب

اولین بار که آمد، برای قرص خواب بود. سی‌ و چند ساله، اما پنجاه می‌‌زد. از آخرین فیزیکالش پرسیدم. با لرزشی عصبی سرش را تکان داد: "تازه اومدم، پناهنده‌ام - همون والیوم کافیه!" دو سالی‌ که ونکوور بود، بیش و بیشتر آمد. برای زخم معده، طپش قلب، اضطراب و افسردگی. گفتم، بد نیست یه روانپزشک خوبم ببینی‌. اما اصرار داشت که، "اینا حرف ما رو نمی‌‌فهمند!">>>

ساعت سکوت

به گوستاو همین نیم ساعت پیش گفتم به خانه پری برود. بی آنکه حرفی بزند از پنجره خودش را به آسمان زد و رفت. گربه ی خانم میشیگان هم وقتی فهمید دلم می خواهد تنها باشم در خانه را باز کرد تا به خانه ی دوست دختر جدیدش برود چون دیشب می گفت شاید برای عشق بازی کردن به خانه اش برود چون خیلی وقت است طعم خوش هم خوابگی در صبح از یادش رفته>>>

Ahmadinejad made his annual trip to New York to appear before the United Nations. The seats where the U.N. General Assembly members should have been, quickly emptied in protest again this year when the fraudulent president took to the stage. Yet, this alone isn’t enough of a message of support for human rights for Iran. Later Ahmadinejad met with Larry King as he has in years past. I waited, just as I have each time Western media has interviewed Ahmadinejad, to hear answers to the hard questions: “What is Iran doing about human rights?” “How can you justify the torture and murder by your government of your own people?” Again, Ahmadinejad didn’t have to answer these questions>>>

Hossein is one of us

Hossein had had some conversations with Press TV about working in their Tehran office. Even during the days before his arrest, he would sometimes go to their office since we didn’t have high speed internet at home. Before his return to Iran, the High Council of Iranian Affairs Abroad promised Hossein that his trip would be without problem. He had cleared his trip with this Council which is governmental and which is in contact with the Intelligence Ministry. That’s why even though Hossein knew that they would call him to be questioned, he did not expect to be arrested>>>

یارانه ها

با احتیاط تمام از دختره پرسید: ببخشید سوالی داشتم. دختره اصلاً جوابی نداد و با بی میلی طوری نگاه کرد که یالا بپرس. پیرزن لبخند سردی زد و گفت: می توانم شماره حساب همین دفترچه قسط را بدهم تا کمک های یارانه ام را که دولت قرار است با قطع یارانه ها به حسب مردم بریزد، به جای همین قسط هایم قبول کنید. لحظاتی سکوت برقرار شد. پیرزن فکر کرد که دختره منظورش را خوب درک نکرده است>>>
