People are exhausted

بابی توی آینه دکان کوچک سلمانی به خودش نگاه می کند و دستی روی سرش می کشد. موهای کوتاهش مثل مخمل سیاه روی پوست سرش چسبیده. یک حلقه طلایی کوچک توی نرمه گوشش برق می زند. عکس دو تا زن لکاته که با پاهای کلفت و موهای رنگ شده روی مبل کهنه سلمانی نشسته اند و تخمه می شکنند توی آینه افتاده است. شاگرد سلمانی موهای ماشین شده بابی را با برس نرمی از پشت گردن و عرق چین سفید او می تکاند>>>

هر روز که ساعت شش از خواب بیدار می شوم، گربه ی خانم میشیگان کنارم نشسته و با چشمان باز نگاهم می کند. در طی این شش سال که از خانم میشیگان اجازه ی نگه داریش را گرفته ام نگهبان من بوده، و حتی وقتی که از خواب و رویاهایم بیدار می شوم کنارش جلوی میز تحریر می نشینم تا همه ی خواب هایم را تعبیر کند. فکرش را که می کنم می بینم گربه حتی از مارسیا جان هم به من نزدیک تر است>>>
