نگارنده بر این باور است که علیرغم آنچه مبلغان حمله‌ی نظامی صریحاً یا تلویحاً بیان می‌کنند، وضعیت نقض حقوق بشر در ایران به هیچ عنوان به گونه‌ای نیست که "مسئولیت محافظت" جامعه‌ی جهانی را برانگیزد و مداخله نظامی قدرت‌های خارجی را توجیه نماید. بررسی اجمالی این اصل دلیل اظهار چنین ادعایی را به خوبی روشن می‌سازد:

Questioning authority is bright and can lead one to a better understanding. Critical literacy as a way of thinking encourages one to scrutinize issues from numerous perspectives, which henceforth assists in the recognition of social and political influences and helps one to avoid developing simplistic viewpoints. Questioning authority, (or anyone for that matter), should not carry a negative connotation even if it is perceived as discord. Let’s bear in mind that dissent is not a crime — to the contrary, dissent is a right! >>>

Those Iranian/Persian intellectuals who studiously avoid discussions of difference and diversity can hardly touch the surface of oppressive and exclusionary power relationships in contemporary Iran. They are likely to offer at best partial, at worst misleading contributions to the struggle for democracy. Their constant talk of democracy and human rights are nothing more than ideological slogans serving as a façade for power and privilege>>>

قتل عام ۶۷ فاحش‌ترین جنایت ضد بشری جمهوری اسلامی است و دادخواهان بسیاری دارد. خانواده‌های قربانیان این فاجعه سر به هزاران می‌زنند و اسناد این جنایت از سوی نهادهای مختلف حقوق بشری جمع آوری شده است. مهم این است که پیکار برای دادخواهی از ملاحظات و گرایش‌های سیاسی بری باشد و خانواده‌های قربانیان داعیان اصلی دادخواهی باشند>>>

تنها اقدام جامعه جهانی از طریق نهادهای حکومتی و سازمان ملل ممکن است بتواند تأثیر عملی بر رفتار رژیم ایران بگذارد. از این رو باید از اقدام اخیر اتحادیه اروپا در تحریم کسانی که در نقض حقوق بشر در ایران دست داشته‌اند استقبال کرد، و از جامعه جهانی خواست که این گونه تحریم‌ها را توسعه دهد. هم‌چنین باید برای کشاندن پرونده حقوق بشر رژیم ایران به مراجع بین‌المللی و از جمله شورای امنیت سازمان ملل تلاش کرد>>>

بنا بر گزارش سازمان تحقیقات رَند، احتمال دارد تا هفتاد درصد از ساکنان اشرف بر خلاف میل خود در این مکان نگهداری شده باشند. سازمان دیده بان حقوق بشر، کارشناسان مستقل ایران و دو لت آمریکا، توانسته اند شیوه های شبه فرقه ای و سوئ رفتارهای این سازمان را مستند کنند. جامعه ی بین المللی باید هرچه سریعتربه وضعیت ساکنان اشرف رسیدگی کند. پنج گام اساسی برای آمریکا، جامعه بین المللی و سازمان مجاهدین خلق برای رفع مشکلات اردوگاه اشرف باید مورد توجه قرار گیرد>>>

And down that road they went to face their destiny while chanting songs. سالگرد فاجعه کشتار سال ۶۷ فرا رسیده است. این کشتار یکی از بزرگ‌ترین جنایات ضد بشری نیمه دوم قرن بیستم میلادی در سطح جهان بوده است. هزاران نفر در طول چند هفته به صورت مخفیانه و به دلایل عقیدتی و سیاسی در زندان‌های ایران اعدام شدند. شدت و وسعت این کشتار بی سابقه بود، ولی نفس عمل پدیده‌ای استثنایی در حیات جمهوری اسلامی نبود... راحت‌تر و مؤثرتر آن است که از «اعدام‌های دهه اول انقلاب» سخن بگوییم - دهه‌ای که از ۲۲ بهمن ۱۳۵۷ شروع شد و در پاییز ۱۳۶۷ به پایان رسید>>>

در این که آمنه کاری بزرگ و انسانی کرده و مانع از آن شده است تا کسی در حضور دیگران و دوربین‌های تلویزیونی انسان دیگری را، صرف نظر از جرمی که مرتکب شده است، به عمد و آگاهانه کور کند تردیدی نیست. ولی آن چه که کمتر در این قضیه مورد توجه قرار گرفته این است که چرا خانم بهرامی باید در وضعیتی قرار گیرد که مجبور شود در مورد سرنوشت مرد جنایت‌کاری که به صورت او اسید پاشیده است تصمیم بگیرد>>>

دامنه خشونت در ایران به جایی رسیده که داد مجلسیان و دولتیان را نیز درآورده است. کمتر روزی است که اخبار و گزارش‌های قتل و جنایت آن هم در منظر عموم و یا تجاوز و خشونت جنسی به صورت‌های فردی و گروهی به زنان و کودکان در ایران منتشر نشود. آنچه بیشتر نگران کننده است سیر صعودی آمار این جنایت‌ها است. رژیم حاکم می‌اندیشد که با اعمال مجازات‌های خشن می‌تواند این سیر صعودی را متوقف یا معکوس کند>>>
