People around the world have been making comparisons between the situations in their countries and those in the Arab lands in revolt. Will Saudi Arabia follow the path of Egypt? Is Azerbaijan like Tunisia? Such comparisons are often misleading, but we can't help doing it and sometimes such exercises can produce interesting hypotheses. For instance, looking at the spectrum of the Arab uprisings, I believe that Iran is more like Egypt than like Libya. Maybe>>>

This is typical of all dictatorships in Middle East Arab countries and Iran. Those who hold the power, hold the wealth. Their material wealth goes beyond their needs, yet is blinded with greed. Their subjects live in poverty, but they do not see it. It is inconceivable to think there is poverty in Saudi Arabia, where money rolls in truck loads daily (so to speak). The opulence of Royal family in one hand and the poverty of ordinary families and child labor on the other>>>

هیچ کس شک ندارد که حسینبن منصور حلاج (309ــ 244 هـ . ق) اولا در دورهی معینی از زندگی خود شروع به گفتن این جمله کرد: "اناالحق" و ثانیاً توسط مقتدر عباسی در بغداد به دار آویخته شد. جز این دو مورد، بر سر دیگر مسائل مربوط به زندگی این شخصیت نیمه افسانه ای مابین گذشتگان و امروزیان به یک نسبت اختلاف وجود دارد. علی شریعتی او را دیوانه میخوانَد و علی میرفطروس کم مانده تا او را مارکسیست بخواند. از قدما نیز گروهی او را موحد و برخی ملحد می خواندند>>>
