We need a different world

As, at the safety of our living rooms, we witness the story on magnitude of devastation in Haiti unfolds, it is also an opportunity for us to bring this crisis down at our personal level. I see this is as an opportunity to reflect on life, all aspects of it – our family, friends, country, world at large…and the fragility of it. How one can be a help? That is an immediate and constant question that perhaps no matter how we try to bury it behind forgotten minds – it does persist>>>

1979 all over again?

Although I am not a monarchist I have the utter respect for Reza Pahlavi and what he (claims to) stand for. I must also mention that I have lot of respect for his father Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and although I do not agree with all his decisions I still think he was a true patriot and have done a lot for us to be grateful. However he also had many fatal mistakes that are always open to discussion and in the end history is the best judge>>>

سال ۶۷ با موشک باران شهرها آغاز شد. واحد شیمیایی- موشکی- هسته‌ای سپاه تو اسفند ماه و از سر خریت، سه فروند به سمت بغداد شلیک کرده بود؛ که صدام طی ماه بعد، با سیصد تا اسکاد پاسخ داد! گل بود، به سبزه نیز آراسته شد. به ناچار، منیژه و پدر و مادر عیال رو فرستادم شیراز منزل دایی جان، ولی‌ خودم بخاطر مدیریت شرکت دارویی، تهران نشین شدم. از سرپرستی بنیاد مستضعفان هم بخشنامه آمد که، "اگر هر روز هم موشک از آسمان ببارد، حق ندارید تعطیل کنید!" >>>

دو ماه از آشنایی بهرام و الهه می گذشت. کمابیش یک روز در میان یکدیگر را می دیدند. آغاز ماه آذر سال هزار سیصد و هشتاد و یک خورشیدی برابر شده بود با نیمه رمضان سال هزار و چهارصد و بیست و سه قمری. الهه هفت روز نخست ماه رمضان را بسبب گرفتار شدن به عادت ماهانه اش نتوانست روزه بگیرد. اما پس از آن روزه گرفت و دوباره نماز خواندن را از سر گرفت. اما ماه رمضان امسال برایش آن حال و هوای رمضانهای سالهای گذشته را به همراه نداشت>>>
