پاکدینی بنیاد گرایانه و نقد روشنفکری دینی هردو واکنشی به شرایط تفکر و زیست مدرن هستند. هر دو اینها بنام "پویا" نمودن دینی که ظاهراً متحجّر و آلوده به خرافات بود و برای نجات آن از هجو و هجا و حمله های بی محابای دین ستیزان تفسیر سنت ستیزی از دین ارائه داده اند. اما تفاوت ایندو گروه در اینست که بنیاد گرایان با تکیه به نهادهای منسجم و احساسات دینی صورتهای جدیدی از مناسک مذهبی آفریفته اند که تداوم اندیشه آنها را تضمین میکند. ولی روشنفکران دینی بنا بر اقتضای طبع خود از نهاد آفرینی و باز سازی مناسک سر باز زده اند>>>

Plans to inject school education with more Islamic content, anti-western values and pro-regime and separate content for boys and girls amount to an attempt at an Iranian-style “Cultural Revolution.” The plan is reminiscent of the upheavals in education that followed the 1979 revolution. >>>

مرتکبین قتل های زنجیره ای مانند بانیان محکومیت درایفوس، یک عده مزدور و قاتل بالفطره نبودند.... معتقد و منضبط بودن جنایتکاران نه تنها ذره ای از شناعت اعمالشان نمی کاهد بلکه به مصداق دزد با چراغ آمده قبح اعمالشان را دو صد چندان می کند... منطق قاتلین این بود که معاندین خطرشان از قاچاقچیان و اشراری که اعدام می شوند بیشتر و امکان مجازات قانونی شان کمتر است. بنا براین، و با فتاوا و اجازه هائی که از معدودی مجتهدین و روحانیان متصدی امور برای این اعدامها گرفتند دست به خون متفکران، روزنامه نگاران، محققین، و فعالان سیاسی ایران آغشتند>>>

It seems people in rich countries like the United States have an endless craving for variation, from SUVs to electronics to even simple products like ice cream, yogurt, and not to mention, Beanie Babies. No matter how many different versions of a product are already in the market, it seems manufacturers always have newer ones coming and consumers have an insatiable desire to buy them>>>

Later on, the Sumerian civilization was flooded by waves of Semitic immigrants (forefathers of today’s Jews and Arabs) and at about 5,000 years ago, morphed into the Akkadian civilization. The Akkadians in turn were defeated and absorbed into the Assyrian and Babylonian states>>>

I see this is as an opportunity to reflect on life, all aspects of it – our family, friends, country, world at large…and the fragility of it. How one can be a help? That is an immediate and constant question that perhaps no matter how we try to bury it behind forgotten minds – it does persist>>>

Although I am not a monarchist I have the utter respect for Reza Pahlavi and what he (claims to) stand for. I must also mention that I have lot of respect for his father Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and although I do not agree with all his decisions I still think he was a true patriot and have done a lot for us to be grateful. However he also had many fatal mistakes that are always open to discussion and in the end history is the best judge>>>

سال ۶۷ با موشک باران شهرها آغاز شد. واحد شیمیایی- موشکی- هسته‌ای سپاه تو اسفند ماه و از سر خریت، سه فروند به سمت بغداد شلیک کرده بود؛ که صدام طی ماه بعد، با سیصد تا اسکاد پاسخ داد! گل بود، به سبزه نیز آراسته شد. به ناچار، منیژه و پدر و مادر عیال رو فرستادم شیراز منزل دایی جان، ولی‌ خودم بخاطر مدیریت شرکت دارویی، تهران نشین شدم. از سرپرستی بنیاد مستضعفان هم بخشنامه آمد که، "اگر هر روز هم موشک از آسمان ببارد، حق ندارید تعطیل کنید!" >>>

دو ماه از آشنایی بهرام و الهه می گذشت. کمابیش یک روز در میان یکدیگر را می دیدند. آغاز ماه آذر سال هزار سیصد و هشتاد و یک خورشیدی برابر شده بود با نیمه رمضان سال هزار و چهارصد و بیست و سه قمری. الهه هفت روز نخست ماه رمضان را بسبب گرفتار شدن به عادت ماهانه اش نتوانست روزه بگیرد. اما پس از آن روزه گرفت و دوباره نماز خواندن را از سر گرفت. اما ماه رمضان امسال برایش آن حال و هوای رمضانهای سالهای گذشته را به همراه نداشت>>>

دکتر علی‌محمدی یک متخصص فیزیک و استاد دانشگاه بود. او یک چهره سیاسی یا فعال در صحنه سیاسی کشور نبود. کمتر کسی خارج از محیط-های دانشگاهی و تحقیقاتی فیزیک نام او را شنیده بود. به گفته سازمان انرژی اتمی ایران، او هیچ رابطه استخدامی با این سازمان نداشته است،. دکتر علی‌محمدی در عین حال در صحنه سیاسی امروز ایران در جبهه «سبز» بوده است. نام او در فهرست ۴۲۰ نفر از استادان دانشگاه در حمایت از نامزدی میرحسین موسوی در انتخابات ۲۲ خرداد آمده است. علاوه بر آن، دکتر شیرزاد به عنوان یک دوست قدیمی و خانوادگی او از شرکت او در راه‌پیمایی عظیم ۲۵ خرداد همراه با دانشجویانش یاد می‌کند>>>
