While initial reports didn't indicate anything much new was said by the Representative, who has been calling for a gasoline "quarantine" on Iranians since 2007, audio from the event has just been released that reveals some troubling insights into Kirk's gasoline embargo rationale>>>

Inside the cockpit of an Iran Air Boeing 727, two pilots are quietly maneuvering the passenger plane through the night sky. Captain Shahram Nasseri and his copilot Payman Izadi try to busy themselves with routine cockpit chores, but their tension is clearly visible. They exchange nervous glances at one another. Every few seconds, one of the men looks at his window to look at the two fighter escorts that are flanking them on both sides. Izadi’s headset is lowered and is hanging lose around his neck. They come, two men on two horses, at full gallop. When they see my skin tanned from the sun and my eyes greener than the onions stalks in my arms, they slow and stop, one to stare and the other to ask. Are you Agha Barzani’s girl? I nod. با شروع ماه آذر هوا ناگهان رو به سردی گذاشت. آسمان ابری می شد و گاه باران بشکل نم نم شروع به بارش می کرد. ناجی تا چند روز از خانه خارج نشد. او ارتباط خود را با دنیای بیرون از خانه اش قطع کرده بود و حتی به تلفن هم پاسخ نمی داد. پزشک استفاده از مشروبهای الکلی را اکیداً برای او ممنوع کرده بود. تنها پناه او اکنون موسیقی و رویاهایش بودند. دوست داشت فکر کردن به مرگ و انتظار آن را کشیدن تمام ذهن و اندیشه اش را درگیر خود کند اما مرگ تنها گوشه ای از ذهن همیشه فعال او را سرگرم می کرد>>>

So you think Ferdowsi wrote the Shahnameh that is on your coffee table? Well, yes and no. No one knows what happened to Ferdowsi’s original manuscript. We can read the work today because copies were copied from copies by hand in the dim light of oil lamps by scribes who couldn’t read each other’s handwriting. Maybe some of the scribes waxed poetic and thought they could improve on Ferdowsi. A few centuries later the printing press came along and the manuscripts became books, fancy re-prints of which found their way to your coffee table. The result is as follows>>>

چندان شگفت انگیز نخواهد بو د اگرامسال در هشتم ِ مارس و یا در شبِ چهارشنبه سوری، زنان ِ دلیرمان تصمیم بگیرند که اگر چه بصورت سمبولیک ( با آوردن یک روسری ِ یدکی) در یکزمان ِمشخص روسریها و چادرهایشان را به آتش بکشند. این اقدام قطعا با حساسیت ِ رژیم، حرکتی آنی وموقتی خواهد بود اماچه در سطح ِ ایران و چه در سطح جهان نتایج ِ بی نظیری را در بر خواهد داشت. بدون ِ شک با اینعمل دیگر رژیم نمی تواند آنان را با اتهاماتی نظیر ِ "محاربه با خدا" به صلابه بکشد وقطعا این عمل خطرناکتر از آنچه تاکنون بانجام رساند ه اند، نخواهد بود>>>

چندی پیش مقدّ مۀ کتابی به قلم بیلی کالینز، شاعر توانا و ملک الشّعرای آمریکا بین سالهای ۲٠٠۱ تا ۲٠٠۳ به دلائل چندی توجّهم را بشدّت بخود جلب کرد: ابتدا این که شباهت های فراوانی در آن بین شاعران و مدیحه سرایا ن زبان فارسی و انگلیسی و هم چنین بین وظایف ملک الَّشعرا های ایران و انگلستان یافتم. دو دیگر این که علاوه بر آن شباهت ها ، برداشت جدیدی از شعر و تعریف شعر در آن یافتم که کاملاً بدیع، ناشنیده و منطبق با واقعیّات بود>>>

The evening of Thursday 25 February in Paris was wet and windy. From metro Mabillon I turned left and found myself in the rue Princesse and in front of Village Voice, the Anglo-American bookshop where Goli Taraghi, the Iranian novelist was going to give a talk. This well-known Parisian bookstore organizes lectures by many international writers. I got there over half an hour early. Next door I spotted an eating establishment with plenty of empty chairs. I went in and discovered that it was a fancy hamburger joint with Sri Lankan cooks sporting Saddam Hussein moustaches and French waiters dishing out pseudo-American burgers in pseudo-American accents>>>

آفتاب کم جان زمستان تهران افتاد تو چشم های بسته امیر. یک آن مثل آدم های برق گرفته از جا پرید و از اینکه پسرلندهوری در کارتنش خوابیده کلی تعجب کرد. چندین بار چشمانش را مالید. دیشب خودش تنهائی رفته بود داخل کارتن خالی یخچال. داشت فکر میکرد که این گنده بگ از کجا پیدایش شده. راستش از هیکل پسره ترسیده بود. اصلاً فکر نمیکرد اگر دعوائی در بگیرد، حریفش شود. از وقتی شش ماه قبل از خانه خود در رشت فرار کرده بود، یک شب آرام و قرار نداشت. تازه فکر میکرد تو پارک المهدی در ضلع جنوب شرقی میدان آزادی تهران دارد آرام میگیرد و سری تو سرها در می آورد>>>
